Act Beauty introduces refillable perfume spray bottles for on-the-go use

The refill system promotes sustainability by reducing packaging waste and material consumption with multiple refills.

FRANCE – Act Beauty, a France-based beauty and luxury packaging specialist, has unveiled a new range of refillable perfume spray bottles designed to support what the company describes as “evolving nomadic beauty practices.”

The development reflects growing demand for portable, reusable packaging that fits seamlessly into modern, mobile lifestyles while aligning with sustainability goals.

The refillable spray bottles are manufactured using a combination of glass and metal, positioning them as durable and premium alternatives to single-use travel-size fragrance packaging.

Act Beauty says the system has been engineered for safety and repeated use, allowing for multiple refills without compromising functionality or product integrity.

According to the company, the long service life of the bottles is a key sustainability advantage.

“The long-term use limits the production of new packaging and reduces the associated material consumption,” Act Beauty said.

“For brands, the range represents a practical reuse solution, and for users, a functional, durable object aligned with contemporary lifestyles.”

Beyond traditional perfumes, the bottles are suitable for a broad spectrum of applications, including facial, body, and hair mists.

Act Beauty notes that the format is designed to be versatile across multiple touchpoints, from travel and everyday mobility to retail activations and loyalty programmes, where premium refillable objects can help strengthen brand engagement.

The launch comes as on-the-go beauty formats gain momentum across the personal care sector. Fast-paced urban lifestyles, combined with airline travel restrictions and consumer interest in portability, are driving brands to rethink both pack sizes and packaging systems.

At the same time, refill and reuse concepts are increasingly viewed as viable routes to reducing packaging waste without sacrificing convenience or aesthetics.

Recent industry developments highlight this shift. In 2024, Azelis Group introduced its Beauty Boost range at In-cosmetics Global in Amsterdam, presenting 16 concept formulations focused on innovative textures and portable, on-the-go beauty solutions.

The concepts were positioned to help brands respond quickly to emerging consumer habits around convenience and personalization.

Sustainability-driven innovation is also shaping primary cosmetic packaging. Eastman, in collaboration with cosmetics packager Toly, recently launched Gemini, a refillable and recyclable cosmetic compact made using Eastman’s Cristal One Renew IM812 resin.

The compact targets everyday beauty routines while addressing recyclability and material reduction.

Elsewhere, global cosmetics packaging provider Quadpack has invested in new manufacturing equipment at its Kierspe, Germany, facility to produce lip gloss dip-in bottles locally, strengthening supply chain resilience and responding to continued demand for colour cosmetics packaging.

Together, these developments underscore how refillable and portable formats are becoming central to beauty packaging strategies, as brands balance premium design, convenience, and sustainability in response to changing consumer behaviour.
