ADNEC Group clinches four honours at Gulf Sustainability Awards 2025

ADNEC’s rooftop solar PV installation won Gold for Best Use of Renewable Energy.

UAE – ADNEC Group, part of Modon Holding, has reaffirmed its leadership in sustainable business tourism by securing four accolades at the Gulf Sustainability Awards 2025.

The recognition highlights the Group’s commitment to decarbonization, innovation, and circular economy practices across its venues and services, as it works toward achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2045.

The awards included two Golds, Best Use of Renewable Energy and Best Sustainable Product, alongside a Bronze in Best Circular Economy.

In addition, Ahmed Al Obaidli, Chief Operations Officer at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, was named for Outstanding Contribution to Sustainability, underscoring the Group’s commitment to embedding sustainability at all levels of its operations.

Commenting on the achievement, Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, said, “Receiving four awards at the Gulf Sustainability Awards 2025 is a testament to the dedication of our teams in developing sustainability programs and solutions that meet the highest international standards.

“We will continue to lead in this field by expanding our initiatives, further strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a global destination for business and tourism, and working towards our goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2045.”

Among the standout projects was ADNEC’s rooftop solar PV installation, which won Gold for Best Use of Renewable Energy. Currently in its implementation phase, the 5MWp system will provide around 30% of the venue’s annual electricity demand from clean sources.

The project is expected to eliminate approximately 6,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually, making it one of the most ambitious renewable energy initiatives in the regional events industry.

The Group also took Gold in Best Sustainable Product for its TerraTile modular flooring, developed in partnership with Terrax.

Made entirely from recycled event waste, each tile diverts more than five kilograms of material from landfills, while its reusable design offers a cost-effective and eco-friendly alternative to traditional temporary flooring.

The TerraTile also won Bronze in the Circular Economy category for its fully closed-loop lifecycle, with tiles capable of being reused over 100 times before being recycled into new ones.

With sustainability now central to Abu Dhabi’s long-term economic and tourism strategies, ADNEC Group’s achievements signal how innovation and collaboration can accelerate the transition to greener events.

As global demand for low-carbon venues grows, ADNEC is positioning itself, and Abu Dhabi, as a hub for sustainable business tourism in the MENA region.
