Amcor aims to offer customizable solutions to meet diverse de-icing product requirements.

SWITZERLAND – Amcor is strengthening its position in the de-icing segment by expanding its portfolio of rigid and flexible packaging solutions tailored to the sector’s diverse performance and sustainability requirements.
The company says it can now design and manufacture containers, trigger sprays, and bags in multiple shapes and sizes to support a wide range of de-icing products used across industrial, commercial, and consumer applications.
Amcor’s latest rigid packaging offerings include rectangular containers, jerry cans, and trigger spray bottles engineered to perform reliably in harsh winter conditions.
According to the company, the solutions are designed to enhance product protection, improve ease of handling and storage, and support customers’ sustainability targets through the use of recycled content and recyclable designs.
Katrina Burrett, product line director at Amcor Rigid Packaging Solutions International, said the move reflects steady growth in the de-icing and industrial salts market.
Citing Inkwood Research, Burrett noted that the European industrial salts market recorded a compound annual growth rate of about 1.55% between 2019 and 2027.
“We are seeing several different types of de-icing products on the market, and this is why it is important to provide the widest range of practical and functional pack solutions to help companies maximize opportunities in the sector,” she said.
To meet varying customer needs, Amcor’s rectangular containers can be produced entirely from post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic.
Their shape supports efficient stacking, while a resealable lid and integrated carry handle are designed to improve safety, handling, and pouring during use.
For larger-volume and chemical applications, Amcor offers lightweight jerry cans equipped with a Jeroboam closure system that enables controlled, anti-glug dispensing and secure transport.
These jerry cans can incorporate up to 50% PCR content and are positioned as refill solutions for larger containers, helping reduce overall packaging consumption.
Amcor has also developed an all-plastic trigger spray pump that eliminates metal springs, reducing corrosion risk and improving recyclability.
The design can be customized with different nozzles, levers, and dip tube options, includes a screw closure suitable for refill packs, and is available with up to 50% PCR.
In flexible packaging, Amcor supplies bags compatible with vertical and horizontal form-fill-seal (VFFS and FFS) formats for 1–25 kg applications.
The bags offer strong moisture barriers to minimize clumping, along with high tear and puncture resistance for durability in demanding environments. Recycle-ready structures can also incorporate up to 50% recycled content.
The expanded offering reflects broader trends in industrial packaging, where manufacturers are seeking robust, winter-resistant solutions that also align with circular economy goals.
By combining performance-driven design with recyclable and recycled-content materials, Amcor aims to help de-icing product suppliers balance functionality, efficiency, and sustainability as demand for specialized winter maintenance solutions continues across Europe and other cold-climate markets.
