The Bottles for Change team will collect used plastic from the Manekshaw Centre and ensure it is responsibly recycled.
INDIA – Bisleri International, India’s leading packaged drinking water brand, has forged a significant partnership with the Indian Army’s Manekshaw Centre in Delhi Cantonment, marking a powerful step forward in its flagship plastic recycling initiative – ‘Bottles for Change’.
The Letter of Association was recently formalized between Bisleri CEO Angelo George and senior army officials, signifying a shared commitment to sustainability, national service, and environmental responsibility.
Through this collaboration, the Bottles for Change team will collect used plastic from the Manekshaw Centre and ensure it is responsibly recycled.
Located on a sprawling 25-acre complex, the Manekshaw Centre is a prestigious venue that hosts numerous military and civilian events, making it a vital location for initiating large-scale recycling habits.
Speaking on the partnership, Angelo George emphasized the honour of aligning with a symbol of discipline and national pride, stating, “This collaboration reflects our shared vision of environmental responsibility and national pride.
“We are proud to contribute to the armed forces’ efforts towards sustainability and look forward to a long-term, meaningful partnership.”
This project is a continuation of Bisleri’s long-standing dedication to plastic waste management. The ‘Bottles for Change’ initiative, launched in 2018, has already made impactful inroads across major Indian cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
It focuses not only on recycling but also on raising awareness about proper plastic segregation at source.
Bisleri has collaborated with over 600 housing societies, educational institutions, corporates, and public organizations, including the Mumbai International Airport and Western Railway, to foster recycling habits among citizens.
In one of its earlier landmark projects, Bisleri joined hands with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) to set up structured recycling channels across schools and offices.
The company also partnered with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) to conduct awareness workshops, encouraging students and communities to become “plastic positive.”
This latest alliance with the Indian Army’s Manekshaw Centre elevates the program’s stature and reach, representing a model for how corporate sustainability efforts can converge with national institutions to amplify environmental impact.
It also reinforces Bisleri’s broader Greener Promise under its Sustainability 2.0 campaign, which encompasses water conservation, plastic recycling, and eco-conscious growth.
As Bisleri continues to expand its recycling efforts across India, such partnerships stand as shining examples of how collective responsibility can transform sustainability from a buzzword into a nationwide movement.
