INDIA – Cosmo First Ltd. is delighted to announce the attainment of the FSSC 22000 food safety certification by Cosmo Plastech (Specializing in Rigid Sheets, Thermoforming & Injection Molding).

This certification is a compulsory prerequisite for packaging materials that directly come into contact with food.

FSSC 22000 incorporates requirements that empower companies to address risks across various domains, including food fraud, food defense, food safety and quality culture, quality control, allergen management, and environmental monitoring programs.

Grounded in the globally acknowledged ISO 22000 standard, and complemented by technical standards like ISO TS 22002-1 for food manufacturing and ISO TS 22002-4 for packaging manufacturing, this certification is harmonized with other benchmarks such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, ensuring alignment with the ISO High-Level Structure.

The FSSC 22000 certification yields numerous advantages for the company and its stakeholders, encompassing a commitment to identify, assess, and control food safety hazards, thereby mitigating the risk of consumer harm, whether direct or indirect.

It also provides assistance in meeting food quality and safety requirements, ensuring legal compliance.

Thirdly, it offers a robust tool for enhancing food safety performance, including effective monitoring and measurement.

Furthermore, the certification enables the company to cultivate a resilient food safety culture, elevating customer confidence and facilitating the attainment of competitive advantages.

Expressing his perspective on the certification, Mr. Pankaj Poddar, Group CEO, Cosmo First Limited, stated, “The global market, characterized by a significant youth population, leading to a burgeoning demand for fast food and packaged food, signifies substantial growth potential for the food packaging sector.

The Food Safety System Certification FSSC 22000 is applicable to the scope of sheet extrusion, thermoforming, injection molding, dry offset printing, and/or sleeving of PP & HIPS based rigid plastic cups, lids, trays, and sheets for food packaging applications.
