FINLAND – Duni Group, a supplier of dining and food packaging solutions, has introduced its new takeaway series, Vista, which not only integrates improved recyclability with increased functionality but also contributes to reducing plastic waste.
According to Duni, From July 2025, the series is scheduled for release. It features a recyclable grey plastic base designed to be detected and recycled by modern waste sorting systems.
According to Duni, the grey plastic used in Vista plastic is fully detectable in modern recycling facilities, representing a significant shift away from traditional black plastic.
The series, designed for hot and cold meals, offers a range of innovative features. It comes in five sizes with options for two or three compartments, catering to a variety of meal types and portion sizes.
The new solution utilises less material while maintaining durability and performance.
Vista offers enhanced usability and is designed to ease handling, featuring a leak-proof design, microwave-safe lids, and antifog technology to reduce condensation and provide clear visibility.
It also features tamper-evident and hygienic seals to ensure safety, as well as adjustable vents to help preserve food texture.
Additionally, a tear-off hinge allows the container to convert into a serving bowl, and an innovative stacking system facilitates easy storage and transport.
Caroline Tobiasson, product manager of Food Packaging Solutions at Duni Group, says, “With Vista, we are taking an important step toward offering our customers more sustainable and functional packaging solutions that are designed for real-world needs.”
“The grey plastic allows for recycling in a way that black plastic does not, while the enhanced features contribute to a better user experience from kitchen to consumer. This innovation supports higher recycling rates and reduced plastic use and is a key milestone in Duni Group’s journey toward a circular future.”
The takeaway series has no carbon black; hence, it does not hinder recyclability and raise health concerns.
The development of Vista is a direct response to the growing demand for sustainable and functional packaging from regulatory bodies, consumers, and the market.
This development aims to reduce waste of plastic either virgin plastic used during production or used plastics being polluted to the environment. this is significant as vista is recyclable.
Earlier this month, Duni Group acquired LinePack to bolster food packaging capabilities.
The acquisition aims to strengthen Duni’s Food Packaging Solutions division and expand the technological depth of its Duniform brand.
