Customers will now be able to transfer production data from Durst Tau label presses to the MIS software in real time.

ITALY – The Durst Group, an Italian manufacturer of digital printing technologies, has partnered with Belgian software firm CERM to create a seamless connection between printing presses and management systems in the labels and packaging sector.
According to details from the collaboration, a new connector links Durst Analytics, a system that operates directly on Durst printers, with CERM’s Management Information Systems (MIS) software.
This setup allows customers to send production data from Durst Tau label presses to the MIS in real time, enabling quicker access to operational insights.
Steffan Haaga, director of global business development at CERM, described the development as an essential step toward higher productivity and data-based choices.
He noted that the partnership provides label and packaging printers with a complete ecosystem where production and business data connect fully.
The integration will debut at Labelexpo 2025 in Barcelona, scheduled for September 16-19, with demonstrations at the Durst booth 3E79 and CERM booth 3G43.
Serge Clauss, product manager for software and solutions at Durst Group, highlighted the long-standing industry need for such data merging.
He explained that the connection between Durst Analytics and CERM delivers clear visibility and oversight for users.
This move comes amid Durst’s ongoing efforts to enhance its software capabilities, including a recent tie-up with German firm GMG Color.
Under that agreement, GMG’s spectral color management technology has been added to Durst Workflow, a browser-based tool for automating pre-press and printing tasks.
Existing customers with active software deals receive the update without extra charges.
The GMG integration extends to Durst’s Smart Factory portfolio under its Open Software Initiative, a modular platform for various print applications like labels, packaging, and displays.
Both partnerships launch at major events: the GMG one at Printing United Expo 2025 in Orlando, Florida, from October 22-24.
Michael Deflorian, director of the software and solutions business unit at Durst Group, stated that embedding GMG into Durst Workflow and the Smart Factory platform achieves automated color consistency across systems and materials.
Darrian Young, global partnership manager at GMG, called the collaboration a significant advancement, pointing out how it supports a uniform production process regardless of media.
In a related update, Durst Group appointed Paolo Grasso as Global Account Manager for Labels and Flexible Packaging on September 11, 2025.
Grasso, with over 25 years in the industry, previously served as Sales Director at Actega Metal Print, focusing on sustainable technologies.
