Elm Press expands label production with Mark Andy Digital Series iQ investment

USA – Connecticut-based Elm Press is taking a significant step in its growth strategy by investing in the Mark Andy Digital Series iQ.

Originally a commercial print shop, Elm Press has steadily expanded into the label market, driven by increasing demand and evolving customer needs.

“We started as a traditional commercial print shop, but the label market has become a major part of our business,” said Vic Losure, president of Elm Press.

“This investment addresses our need for a more efficient and versatile solution to manage higher volumes and specific client substrate requirements.”

The Digital Series iQ will play a pivotal role in enhancing Elm Press’s label production capabilities, aligning with its long-term strategy to grow its label division.

“This press makes us more competitive in our core business while handling the increasing volume effectively,” Losure noted. “It’s a crucial step in supporting our clients with high-quality, flexible printing solutions.”

The Digital Series iQ’s compatibility with Elm Press’s existing Mark Andy equipment was a key factor in the decision.

“The ability to use our current 13-inch tooling with the new press and its cost-effectiveness made it the ideal choice,” Losure explained.

“We’ve had a great experience with Mark Andy, and this addition is a smart fit for our current needs and future growth.”

While Elm Press continues to maintain its commercial printing operations with Heidelberg presses and an in-house bindery, the company is focusing on expanding its label production.

“We see significant opportunities in the markets we already excel in,” Losure added. “The new press will allow us to serve our existing clients better and tap into new business areas.”

Steve Schulte, vice president of sales at Mark Andy, emphasized the importance of this investment.

“Elm Press’s decision to invest in the Digital Series iQ reflects their commitment to innovation and quality,” he said.

“We are excited to support their journey and look forward to seeing how this press enhances their business.”

With this strategic move, Elm Press is well-positioned to strengthen its foothold in the label market, offering clients advanced solutions while preparing for future growth.
