USA – Evertis, a leading producer of film for packaging, has picked Honeywell’s Aclar film for its Evercare pharmaceutical brand, aiming to better packaging solutions within the pharmaceutical sector.
The selection aims to ensure secure packaging for life-saving medications distributed globally while also supporting the industry’s efforts to shift toward recyclable solutions.
Evertis will use Aclar to develop medical-grade polyethylene terephthalate (PET) packaging materials through its Evercare brand.
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) packaging materials are broadly utilised in different industries due to their lightweight and flexible nature.
Evertis can optimise manufacturing forms, reduce generation costs, and offer modern packaging choices for the industry by utilising Aclar films in its PET packaging.
Honeywell Aclar film, a trusted and reliable material, is a restorative review material that can be used for both rigid and flexible packaging solutions.
It provides the finest dampness obstruction polymer available for drug stability, thereby securing the efficacy of prescription and over the counter (OTC) medications.
Besides, this may help extend shelf life and minimise waste within the pharmaceutical industry.
Moreover, one-of-a-kind specialised generation strategies make it simple to isolate and reuse Aclar films.
Jeff Dormo, the president of Honeywell Energy and Sustainability Solutions sustainability and decarbonisation, remarked, “Honeywell developed Aclar barrier films to help empower our partners in the pharmaceutical industry to develop high-quality packaging materials that meet rigorous standards required in healthcare.”
“Aclar has been safely used in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 50 years, and Evertis’ selection of Aclar films supports our shared mission to help promote the safe and effective packaging of life-saving drugs, ultimately improving patient outcomes.”
Honeywell is set to partner with Evertis to support the design, development, and launch of these innovative packaging solutions, which are expected to be showcased by 2025, ushering in a new era of pharmaceutical packaging.
“We are thrilled to partner with Honeywell to advance the next generation of pharmaceutical packaging. By combining Evertis’ superior PET film and lamination expertise with Honeywell’s unique Aclar barrier technology, we are now able to offer the pharmaceutical industry premium PET-based films with outstanding thermoforming, sealing, and optical properties – while also meeting sustainability credentials,” remarked Casimiro Sacchetti, CSO of Evertis Americas.
In addition, Honeywell announced its Advanced Materials business will be rebranded as Solstice Advanced Materials following a tax-free spin-off to shareholders by early 2026, with the new company based in Morris Plains, New Jersey.
The rebranded company will focus on chemicals and materials, providing advanced technologies in various sectors, including refrigerants, medical and pharmaceutical packaging, and semiconductor components.
