Heidelberg takes over Schubert’s service operations in Brazil

HEIDELBERG is taking over production support and targeted performance optimization activities for the Schubert Group’s machines and systems in Brazil

BRAZIL – Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) has secured a contract to manage service operations for the Schubert Group’s packaging systems in Brazil.

The Schubert Group, a Crailsheim, Germany-based specialist in packaging solutions, focuses on filling systems for industries like food and beverage, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.

This agreement tasks Heidelberg with production support, performance optimization, functional tests, fault analysis, technical advice, and training for Schubert’s machines in Brazil.

It also includes inspection, maintenance, repair, and system assembly or relocation.

“This collaboration allows us to leverage Heidelberg’s global service network to maintain our presence in growth markets like Brazil,” said Marcel Kiessling, Managing Director of Gerhard Schubert GmbH.

Heidelberg’s expertise in mechatronics, electronics, and plant engineering supports Schubert’s operations, ensuring efficient service delivery.

Expanding service capabilities

Heidelberg’s global logistics network, capable of delivering spare parts worldwide within 24 hours, is a key asset in this partnership.

Jürgen Otto, CEO of Heidelberg, stated that extending their service network to partners like Schubert is a core part of their growth strategy.

The company aims to cover the entire packaging value chain, enhancing efficiency through integrated services.

Uwe Galm, Director of Customer Services at Schubert, noted that the collaboration combines innovation and reliability, benefiting both companies’ customers.

Strategic growth in packaging

Heidelberg plans to expand its service offerings to other sectors and companies, particularly international mechanical engineering firms lacking local service infrastructure.

Dr. David Schmedding, Chief Technology & Sales Officer at Heidelberg, emphasized that their network’s rapid response times and technical expertise make them an ideal partner for global manufacturers.

This deal marks Heidelberg’s first major third-party service contract, setting a precedent for future partnerships.
