USA – Hennessy has collaborated with Hip Hop artist Nas, unveiling a new, limited-edition bottle titled ‘HenNassy’ to mark Hip Hop 50, taking place in New York on 11 August.

Hip Hop 50 is a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop in 2023, featuring original series, films & experiences.

The Hennessy Hip Hop 50 Limited Edition Bottle will be showcased through a film, narrated by Nas, creating anticipation for what is to come.

The design has black & white images and typography, giving a raw feel to the packaging.

Hennessy said the bottle is a “symbol of the mindset, lifestyle, and culture of Hip Hop”, and the inspiration behind ‘Rep Yours,’ a new movement to give fans and creators across the globe a chance to ‘rep’ where they’re from.

Jasmin Allen, senior vice president of Hennessy USA said: “Hennessy has been an undeniable mainstay in Hip Hop, intricately woven into the fabric of the genre and its global influence for decades.”

At the core of the effort is the HenNASsy limited-edition bottle logo, which serves at the center of the brand’s July 20 celebration.

Connected to the celebration is the brand’s AI.bum Covers, allowing fans to use buzzy tech as a way to express their appreciation for hip-hop.

The social-first component could deliver an additional layer of excitement and interactivity to the campaign while also helping the brand build its chops in a landscape that has recently commanded massive attention from marketers.

Along with additional celebrations on Aug. 11, a day widely recognized as the birthdate of hip-hop, the brand in press details shared three cocktail recipes for of-age consumers at home looking to mark the occasion, including The Big Apple, HenNASsy Honey and Incredible Hennessy.

Many brands have been quick to jump on hip-hop’s historic year, including Rémy Martin, which partnered with the Universal Hip Hop Museum to launch a series of interactive murals.

Butterfly Cannon crafts luxury bottles for Godawan 100 Series

Elsewhere, Butterfly Cannon has designed the bottles for Godwan 100 Series, an artisanal Indian Single Malt that raises money to conserve the last 100 Godawan birds.

The design agency’s design raises the plight of the birds with illustrations picked out of gold. The 100 bottles include individually numbered labels, designed to evoke the craft of the Godawan’s homeland of Rajasthan.

Butterfly Cannon said: “Our designs for the Godawan 100 Series raise the profile of the plight of the Godawan through a tangible reminder of their extreme rarity.

“Each of the bottles was meticulously hand-etched, with unique illustrations of the last living Godawan birds picked out in gold.

“Making each of the 100 bottles a one-of-a-kind piece of art, that highlights how important every single remaining Godawan bird is.”
