LOG Pharma unifies drug packaging production to streamline supply chain

This new model helps eliminate mismatches between closures and containers.

ISRAEL – LOG Pharma Primary Packaging has introduced an integrated manufacturing model for pharmaceutical bottles and caps, aiming to simplify sourcing, reduce waste, and enhance packaging consistency across the supply chain.

Traditionally, pharmaceutical companies have sourced bottles and closures from separate suppliers—an approach that often leads to compatibility issues and excess material waste.

To address this, LOG Pharma, which operates facilities in Israel and Hungary, now produces containers and caps under one roof.

By manufacturing both components in a single facility, LOG is improving the compatibility between bottles and caps while ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory standards, including ISO 8317:2015 for child-resistant packaging.

This new model helps eliminate mismatches between closures and containers, a common issue that complicates assembly and can compromise product safety.

The shift also responds to client demand. LOG previously supplied only bottles to several pharmaceutical companies, but customer feedback highlighted the need for a more cohesive, single-source packaging solution.

In response, the company invested in advanced injection moulding equipment to produce caps tailored to its bottle specifications.

Expanded production capacity

To support this integration, LOG has installed two new injection moulding machines capable of producing over 100 million caps annually.

The added capacity enhances the company’s ability to meet the growing needs of the pharmaceutical industry, offering a more stable and responsive supply chain

A major global pharmaceutical firm has already adopted LOG’s integrated production model, benefiting from improved supply reliability and reduced lead times.

LOG’s single-source model offers pharmaceutical manufacturers a streamlined alternative to the traditional multi-vendor approach, reducing logistical complexity and the risk of delays or non-compliance.

For an industry governed by strict quality and regulatory standards, the benefits of having a fully compatible, integrated packaging solution are significant.

With over five decades of experience, LOG Pharma continues to evolve its production strategy to meet modern pharmaceutical needs—balancing performance, regulatory compliance, and sustainability.

The company’s latest move also aligns with its broader mission to reduce material waste and enhance efficiency throughout the packaging lifecycle.
