This collaboration will see Novelis join Meadow’s supply chain as a key materials partner.

SWEDEN – Meadow, the innovator behind aluminium pre-fill solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with aluminium leader Novelis to enhance the circularity and sustainability of its MEADOW KAPSUL technology.
This collaboration will see Novelis join Meadow’s supply chain as a key materials partner, aiming to significantly increase the recycled content used in Meadow’s aluminium-based pre-fill cartridges.
The goal is to deliver a scalable, circular packaging solution for personal and home care products, one that redefines how products are packaged, transported, and reused.
Novelis, recognized globally for its expertise in aluminium recycling and rolling, joins Ball Corporation, DRT Holdings, and C-CARE as a core member of Meadow’s growing partner ecosystem.
Victor Ljungberg, CEO and co-founder of Meadow, said, “Novelis brings the industrial expertise and scale required to support our commercial expansion while reinforcing the sustainability of our value chain.
“This partnership brings us closer to our vision of eliminating linear packaging by delivering one of the most circular packaging systems available today.”
Greg Schlicht, SVP and Chief Commercial Officer at Novelis, added, “Meadow’s mission to reduce waste and increase circularity aligns seamlessly with our vision of aluminium as the material of choice for circular solutions. We’re proud to support this forward-thinking approach to packaging.”
The announcement builds on earlier news from January 2024, when Ball Corporation made a minority investment in Meadow to support the mass production of fully recyclable aluminium cans used as pre-filled cartridges.
Ball is supplying the cans and ends, which are integrated into Meadow’s reusable dispensing system, combining low-carbon aluminium with scalable infrastructure.
Jay Billings, President of Ball Growth Ventures, stated, “Reusable and recyclable packaging has a crucial role in the future of personal and home care.
“Our collaboration with Meadow brings scalable circular solutions to global brands looking to meet ambitious sustainability goals.”
MEADOW KAPSUL™, set to debut in stores in 2025, is a refill system that places a pre-filled aluminium can (containing shampoo, soap, etc.) into a reusable dispenser.
This approach significantly reduces material use, optimizes logistics, and cuts energy consumption, all while delivering a premium consumer experience.
The technology allows brands to transition to sustainable packaging without sacrificing convenience or cost-efficiency.
It offers intuitive usability for consumers, boosts repurchase intent, and provides CPG companies with a competitive edge in meeting environmental commitments.
Meadow and Ball will showcase their innovations during Paris Packaging Week 2025 at the Global Aerosol & Dispensing Forum (ADF) on January 28–29.
MEADOW KAPSUL is a finalist for the ADF Concept of the Year Award, and both companies will co-host a panel titled “Revolutionizing Reuse and Refill: Building a Circular Packaging Ecosystem” on January 29.
