Ranpak partners with Rabot to advance AI-driven packaging solutions

USA – Ranpak Holdings, a leading provider of sustainable paper-based packaging solutions, has joined forces with Rabot, a company specializing in vision AI technology, to enhance packaging automation and efficiency. 

Under this exclusive agreement, Ranpak will integrate Rabot’s AI technology into its global customer network, beginning with an accelerated rollout in North America.

The partnership aims to help customers optimize operations, improve labour efficiency, and reduce material waste by up to 60%.

Rabot’s AI-driven platform enhances warehouse visibility by analyzing data collected from AI camera systems at manual packing stations.

Businesses gain actionable insights through a subscription-based software model to streamline their packing processes and reduce inefficiencies.

This collaboration will complement Ranpak’s existing AI-powered solutions, further enhancing automation and efficiency in packaging operations.

One such solution is DecisionTower, a cutting-edge quality assurance system that ensures precision in packaging. By leveraging AI, DecisionTower helps businesses maintain consistency, reduce errors, and improve packaging accuracy.

This technology is crucial in optimizing operations, particularly for high-volume fulfilment centres where precision is essential. 

Another key innovation is FillPak Trident, an automated void-fill machine designed to minimize paper waste while providing optimal protection for packaged goods. By using AI-driven machine vision, FillPak Trident measures box voids and dispenses precise amounts of recyclable paper filler, reducing excess material use by up to 35%.

This approach enhances sustainability and improves efficiency by eliminating the guesswork involved in manual void filling.

Additionally, Ranpak has partnered with Pickle Robot, a company specializing in AI-powered trailer unloading technology. This system automates the labour-intensive process of unloading packages from trailers, significantly reducing manual effort and improving workplace ergonomics.

By integrating Pickle Robot’s AI capabilities into its operations, Ranpak is helping businesses streamline logistics, reduce labour costs, and improve overall warehouse efficiency. 

Together, these AI-powered solutions reinforce Ranpak’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, ensuring that businesses can achieve higher productivity while minimizing their environmental footprint.

Now available in Europe, this system supplies paper cushioning to up to ten packing stations from a single centralized converter.

It enhances sustainability by producing 100% recyclable, biodegradable, and renewable paper pads while reducing space and equipment needs. The modular design adapts to different layouts, improving workflow efficiency. 

DecisionTower with FillPak Trident: Precision void fill with minimal waste

This system combines computer vision with the FillPak Trident converter to measure box voids and dispense the amount of paper void-fill material, cutting waste by up to 35%.

The triangle-shaped paper pads optimize space utilization, improving product protection and the unboxing experience. 

Pad’it!: Automated in-box protection

The Pad’it! system automates the placement of waved paper cushioning pads at the top, bottom, or both ends of a box, offering enhanced product protection.

With a processing speed of up to 15 boxes per minute, it reduces manual labour while ensuring consistent, visually appealing packaging through robotic arm integration. 

With these AI and automation-driven innovations, Ranpak continues to redefine sustainable packaging, offering solutions that improve efficiency while reducing environmental impact.
