USA – Label and packaging solutions provider Resource Label Group (RLG) has announced the acquisition of US-based TQL Packaging Solutions (TQL) for an undisclosed sum.

Offering both digital and flexographic printing, TQL is a leading prime label and flexible packaging company.

It offers a broad range of custom packaging solutions including pouches, fin seal packaging, pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, roll-fed wrap, tamper evident, and extended content labels for a variety of industries.

QL Packaging Solutions founder Scott Smith said: “Since inception, TQL has always been committed to providing industry-leading technology, service and quality to our customers.

“Our customers come first and by joining the RLG family our team significantly strengthens our capabilities and ability to exceed our customers’ expectations.”

Headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee, RLG is a portfolio company of Ares Management. It offers packaging and label solutions for various industries, including within the chemical, personal care, household products, nutraceutical, food and beverage, medical device, and pharmaceutical sectors.

RLG CEO and president Mike Apperson said: “I am proud to welcome the talented team at TQL to the Resource Label Group family.

“Their focus on innovation and providing customers an exceptional experience is key to serving our growing customer base requiring flexible packaging and labeling solutions.”

The deal represents the 29th acquisition for the US-based company. Last month, RLG announced the acquisition of Pharmaceutic Litho and Label Company (PLLC).

Located in Simi Valley, CA, USA, and Winston-Salem NC, PLLC is a premier manufacturer of printed inserts, labels, and packaging components for pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device manufacturers.

Following the closing of the deal, PLLC will combine efforts with the recently acquired MedLit Solutions to expand and strengthen RLG’s national capabilities for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

Meanwhile, in February, RLG acquired Majestic Labels, based in Riverside, CA, USA.

Founded in 2019 by Ken Nordlie and Isaiah Rudy, Majestic Labels’ core focus is quick turn and digital label solutions.

Nordlie, an industry veteran, will join Resource Label Group in a leadership role overseeing digital label operations for Southern California.

“Joining Resource Label Group provides an incredible opportunity to further advance our capabilities and transform the digital printing experience for our customers. I am excited about the opportunity and look forward to working with the entire team,” said Nordlie at the time.
