Sidel’s technology has helped Hauser lower operational costs, save resources, and simplify compliance with strict food safety regulations in Europe.

GERMANY – Hauser Weinimport, a family-run winery based in Bavaria, Germany, has reached a significant milestone, producing over 600 million PET bottles using Sidel’s advanced Aseptic Combi Predis line.
According to a recent announcement, this innovative technology has enabled the winery to enhance its production efficiency while prioritizing sustainability and product quality.
The Aseptic Combi Predis line offers Hauser unparalleled flexibility, allowing the company to fill a variety of beverages, including different tea flavors and its signature Sangria, El Curador, in 0.5 L, 1 L, and 1.5 L bottle formats.
Operating at an impressive speed of 18,000 bottles per hour, the system ensures rapid production without compromising quality.
“When the thread neck diameter remains unchanged, our highly trained operators can complete product changeovers quickly, minimizing system downtime,” said Florian Kotnig, Head of Production at Hauser Weinimport.
In a statement, Kotnig highlighted the system’s benefits, noting, “The advantages of this technology include optimal filling conditions, food safety for our beverages, low operating costs, and a compact design.”
The line employs Sidel’s patented Predis dry preform sterilization, which uses hydrogen peroxide mist to sterilize preforms before they are blown into bottles.
This method eliminates the need for water or additional chemicals, ensuring the packaging remains aseptic and environmentally friendly.
Hauser’s adoption of this technology marked a pioneering step in Germany, as it was the first to utilize Sidel’s dry preform sterilization.
The system has delivered consistent performance, ensuring smooth operations and bolstering consumer confidence.
“From the beginning, the system was designed for durability and efficiency,” Kotnig explained. “Sidel’s commitment to top-tier support, including innovations like new bottle formats and tethered caps, keeps our production modern and reliable.”
Regular diagnostic checks and preventive maintenance by Sidel technicians further enhance the line’s performance.
“Product quality is a must for Hauser, and our close partnership with Sidel ensures maximum productivity with minimal interruptions,” Kotnig added.
In related news, Sidel recently launched an Aseptic Knowledge Centre, a digital platform offering insights into aseptic packaging solutions.
This resource highlights how technologies like the Aseptic Combi Predis support sustainability by reducing water and chemical usage, aligning with Hauser’s eco-conscious production goals.
