The new facility will enable Siegwerk to improve logistical efficiency and deliver enhanced technical support to customers across the Middle East.
UAE – German-based ink and coatings specialist Siegwerk has expanded its footprint in the Middle East with the opening of a new site in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
This strategic move, which includes both an office building and a warehouse, reinforces the company’s commitment to offering localized service and faster delivery while supporting the region’s growing demand for high-performance and sustainable packaging solutions.
The new facility will enable Siegwerk to improve logistical efficiency and deliver enhanced technical support to customers across the Middle East.
By establishing a stronger local presence, the company is better positioned to respond swiftly to market dynamics and evolving regulatory landscapes.
“As demand for high-performance and sustainable packaging continues to grow in the Middle East, we are excited to establish a stronger local presence through our new site in Dubai,” said Stefan Rosenberg, Head of Sales for Siegwerk’s Narrow Web Business Unit.
“This investment allows us to be closer to our customers and help them meet increasingly stringent sustainability and regulatory requirements.”
Sustainable ink technologies at the forefront
A cornerstone of Siegwerk’s strategy is its long-standing focus on UV and LED-curing ink technologies, including the Sicura Nutriflex LEDTec and Sicura Flex Dual Cure series.
These inks offer low-migration, dual-curing capabilities, suitable for sensitive applications such as food, pharmaceutical, and hygiene packaging.
Both product lines meet key global safety standards, including the German Ink Ordinance, ensuring suitability for sensitive applications like food packaging.
They also deliver strong environmental benefits: lower energy consumption, reduced CO₂ emissions, and enhanced recyclability of printed materials.
These features support manufacturers in meeting sustainability targets and advancing circular packaging solutions.
These technologies support the transition to LED curing, which can reduce electricity use by up to 50%, a compelling advantage amid global energy price volatility.
Aligning with regional and global sustainability goals
With sustainability becoming a top priority in the Middle East’s packaging sector, Siegwerk’s Dubai expansion aligns with broader regional initiatives, such as the UAE’s Year of Sustainability and Vision 2030 in Saudi Arabia.
The company’s local presence allows it to collaborate more closely with converters, brands, and regulators to co-develop packaging solutions that meet both environmental and economic goals.
This Dubai facility is part of Siegwerk’s ongoing global strategy to invest in emerging growth markets, including previous expansions in India, Turkey, and Brazil, all geared toward fostering sustainable innovation in the packaging value chain.
