GERMANY – Tobias Wetzel is set to return to KHS as the new managerial head of Sales and Service starting January 1, 2024.

This appointment has been officially confirmed by the company’s supervisory board. Wetzel, aged 50, makes the transition from Mannesmann Stainless Tubes group, a leading manufacturer specializing in seamless stainless steel and nickel-based alloy tubes and pipes, to the systems provider.

Previously, between 2011 and 2020, Wetzel held various managerial roles at KHS, culminating in his position as the head of the Service Division.

His addition completes the KHS Executive Management Board, joining Kai Acker (CEO), Martin Resch (CFO Finance, Procurement, and IT), and Beate Schäfer (CHRO).

Kai Acker, the CEO at KHS, expressed enthusiasm about Wetzel rejoining the company, citing his extensive knowledge of KHS’s internal processes, structures, leadership skills, and years of experience.

Acker believes Wetzel’s expertise will further fortify the company’s standing in the global beverage market.

Wetzel’s return marks his departure from the Mannesmann Stainless Tubes group, where he served as managing director since late 2020.

“I eagerly anticipate fostering a trusting collaboration with my colleagues and partners. KHS is synonymous with quality and unwavering dependability, attributes that will continue to underpin our efforts to enhance customer satisfaction,” stated Wetzel.

Wetzel’s tenure at KHS spans a decade, encompassing various managerial roles. He initially served as head of RC Service Sales Support, later advancing to executive vice-president of Corporate Controlling, and ultimately leading the Service Division before his departure.

Additionally, from April 2015 to August 2019, he managed the production site in Hamburg, formerly known as KHS Corpoplast GmbH (now KHS GmbH). Before his tenure with the turnkey supplier, Wetzel spent approximately ten years in different roles across Mannesmannröhren-Werke and affiliated companies, collectively contributing over two decades of service to Salzgitter AG, the parent company of both firms.

Wetzel’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in general management from what is now the Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen, followed by a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from FOM International University focusing on economics and management. His professional journey commenced at Coca-Cola, where he gained over three years of valuable experience in the beverage industry.

Acker expressed confidence in the completed Executive Management Board, highlighting its readiness to drive the KHS Group’s future development and collectively steer significant growth initiatives.
