Burke Group acquires Calgary’s sign craft digital imaging to strengthen regional branding services

The company offers wholesale pricing to sign companies and advertising/design agencies.

CANADA – Burke Group of Companies has acquired Sign Craft Digital Imaging, a longstanding Calgary provider of custom signage, digital imaging, and wide-format printing solutions.

The deal, announced on December 3, 2025, integrates Sign Craft’s operations into Burke’s portfolio, expanding the firm’s footprint in Western Canada.

Sign Craft has operated for more than 30 years, delivering interior and exterior signage, vehicle wraps, trade show displays, and digital prints to businesses across the region.

The company maintains a 20,000-square-foot facility equipped for large-scale production, serving clients in retail, construction, and events sectors.

This acquisition adds specialized expertise to Burke’s existing services in commercial printing and marketing materials.

The move enables Burke to consolidate its Calgary presence, offering clients unified solutions for branding needs.

Customers will gain access to streamlined workflows that combine Sign Craft’s imaging capabilities with Burke’s broader production network.

Ian Burke, owner and CEO of Burke Group, stated that the partnership aims to simplify client operations.

He noted increased efficiencies, quicker turnaround times, and a focus on personalized service as immediate benefits.

Burke emphasized the combined team’s drive for practical improvements in the industry.

The acquisition supports expanded coverage for Calgary and surrounding areas, where demand for custom visual solutions continues to grow amid economic recovery efforts.

On December 2, 2025, global coatings firm Stahl completed its integration of Weilburger Graphics’ Turkish packaging business, which specializes in water-based coatings for flexible materials used in signage and labels.

The integration adds production capacity for eco-compatible finishes, targeting reduced environmental impact in printing processes.

Earlier, on November 29, 2025, certification body RecyClass approved a new line of nitrocellulose-free inks designed to enhance recyclability in flexible packaging applications.

These inks, suitable for wide-format digital printing, allow for better separation in recycling streams, addressing common challenges in signage waste management.

Burke Group plans to maintain Sign Craft’s core staff of 25 employees, ensuring continuity in service delivery.

The firm operates without immediate changes to product pricing, keeping costs accessible for small and medium enterprises.

Future initiatives include exploring compatible sustainable inks to align production with emerging certifications.

Local business leaders welcomed the news, citing it as a positive signal for Calgary’s creative sector.

With the acquisition valued at an undisclosed sum estimated around US$5 million US, Burke positions itself to handle larger projects efficiently.
