Appointments update: Konica Minolta names Kent Wolford area VP, Recoup appoints new vice chair, Armor-IIMAK appoints Alejandro Cuomo to VP, NA sales

USA / UK – Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA has appointed Kent Wolford as area vice president, IP packaging and labels, a move aimed at accelerating growth in its digital print and embellishment portfolio for the label and packaging market.

In the role, Wolford will focus on helping converters and brand owners streamline workflows, improve productivity and boost profitability as demand for short runs, customization and faster turnaround continues to rise.

Frank Mallozzi, president of industrial and production print (IPP) at Konica Minolta, said Wolford’s appointment strengthens the company’s position as converters increasingly transition from analogue to hybrid and fully digital production environments.

Wolford brings more than 25 years of experience across conventional narrow-web flexo and digital label technologies, having held senior roles at Xeikon, HP, Domino, Durst and Webtro.

Commenting on his appointment, Wolford said the shift toward digital solutions presents significant opportunities for label and packaging producers to future-proof their operations.

His arrival comes as Konica Minolta continues to expand its AccurioLabel and embellishment finishing offerings, responding to growing demand for high-value labels in food, beverage, pharmaceutical and industrial markets.

Recoup appoints Adrian Whyle as vice chair

In the sustainability space, UK-based plastics resource efficiency and recycling charity Recoup has named Adrian Whyle as vice chair of the Board.

Whyle, who has more than 35 years of international experience in the specialty chemicals and plastics industry, will support Recoup’s strategic direction, governance and collaboration across the plastics value chain.

Recoup chair Jim Armstrong said Whyle’s background spanning business, academia and government will be critical as the organization pushes for greater plastic circularity.

The appointment comes as extended producer responsibility (EPR), design-for-recycling and infrastructure investment remain high on the agenda for plastics stakeholders across Europe.

Armor-IIMAK appoints Alejandro Cuomo to VP, NA sales

Meanwhile, Armor-IIMAK has appointed Alejandro Cuomo as vice president, North America sales, following more than two decades of leadership in Latin America.

Since joining the company in 2001, Cuomo has played a central role in establishing Armor-IIMAK’s LATAM operations, launching regional businesses, building distributor networks and supporting the creation of subsidiaries in Brazil, Mexico and Colombia.

In his new role, based in Amherst, New York, Cuomo will lead the North American sales team, with a mandate to drive growth and strengthen Armor-IIMAK’s position in thermal transfer ribbon and coding solutions.

The appointment reflects the company’s focus on aligning global sales leadership as traceability, automation and compliance requirements continue to shape packaging and labelling demand.
