USA – Mark Andy has introduced its Digital Series HD HighSpeed 1200 press at Labelexpo 2024, doubling the speed of previous models while maintaining a high resolution of 1,200 DPI.

This significant leap in performance boosts productivity, achieving speeds of up to 480 feet per minute without compromising print quality.

The new press excels in full-color variable data printing and maintains precise tolerances in both print-to-print and print-to-die registration.

It is powered by Mark Andy’s innovative ProWORX Digital Front End (DFE), a system designed to streamline pre-press workflow and enhance color management, further optimizing operational efficiency.

“We’re incredibly excited about this technological breakthrough,” said Mark Andy CEO Duane Pekar.

“The market has been asking for faster digital press speeds without sacrificing quality, and we delivered. The HighSpeed 1200 not only doubles the speed of its predecessor but also opens up new opportunities for converters with its hybrid or roll-to-roll formats. This is a game-changer for the industry.”

The Digital Series HD HighSpeed 1200 offers a flexible printing setup with options for CMYKOV or CMYKOVG, ensuring precise color reproduction for a variety of applications.

Heidelberg and Gallus showcase new matte finishing technology

At the same event, Gallus, in partnership with Heidelberg, unveiled their MatteJet technology – a breakthrough in digital inkjet matte finishing.

MatteJet addresses a long-standing challenge in the digital inkjet sector by delivering fast, cost-effective, and high-quality matte finishes, directly integrated into the digital printing process.

For the first time, converters can achieve a high-end matte finish with a simple push of a button- without the need to change inks or add overprint varnish.

This eliminates the requirement for external finishing processes or separate conventional machines, enabling converters to tap into the lucrative wine and spirits label market.

MatteJet also allows brands and converters to take full advantage of digital printing’s benefits, such as profitable short runs, personalization, and on-demand printing, marking a significant step in the industry’s digital transformation.

The technology integrates seamlessly with Gallus’ digital printing unit, further enhancing its system to compose concept – which allows converters to customize and expand their systems as business needs evolve.

Gallus will demonstrate how this concept empowers converters to adapt and thrive in the long term, with MatteJet now playing a key role in this dynamic shift.

Heidelberg and Gallus expand label offerings

Additionally, Heidelberg will showcase its wide array of label solutions alongside Gallus. The company continues its expansion into new business areas, cementing its leadership in providing end-to-end solutions.

Among the highlights will be the latest developments in Screeny screen printing and Prinect workflow software, which are essential for digitizing production and creating the smart, connected print shop of the future.

Prinect, a cornerstone of Gallus’ system to compose, enables converters to optimize their workflows and production processes, further accelerating digital transformation in the label industry.
