The new model offers a reported weighing capacity of up to 600 weighments per minute

USA – Yamato Corporation has unveiled the Omega-0132MV, a high-speed twin multihead weigher designed to streamline packaging operations while minimizing waste.
According to company officials, this latest addition to the Omega Series sets a new benchmark for speed and precision, addressing the growing demand for sustainable practices in manufacturing and co-packing.
The Omega-0132MV boasts an impressive weighing capacity of up to 600 weighments per minute, 300 per side, making it the quickest combination scale available today.
Engineered for versatility, it can fill up to 540 bags per minute, depending on product weight and the accompanying bagging equipment.
It accommodates a broad spectrum of items, from cookies and crackers to gummies and other confections, with weighments ranging from 4 to 500 grams.
Enhanced by memory technology that expands weighing combinations and patented ultra heavy-duty load cells offering resolution down to 1/100 of a gram, the scale ensures unparalleled accuracy.
A key focus of the design is seamless integration with modern vertical form fill seal (VFFS) machines, supporting centerlines of 320mm and 360mm.
Its compact build makes it ideal for facilities with limited vertical space, allowing operators to optimize layouts without compromising performance.
Developed through close collaboration with industry users, the model prioritizes cost-efficiency, delivering faster throughput and reduced product giveaway without superfluous features.
In a statement, Yamato’s product development lead, John Ramirez, emphasized the scale’s role in sustainability: “We’re not just accelerating production; we’re helping manufacturers cut down on excess material and energy use.”
“The Omega-0132MV’s precision directly translates to less waste, aligning with our commitment to eco-friendly innovations that don’t sacrifice speed.”
In partnership with Rovema, the company is showcasing integrated systems at upcoming events like the ULMA Packaging Demo Days in early 2025, demonstrating how such weighers pair with recyclable materials to enhance overall packaging sustainability.
A report by packaging experts notes that these advancements could reduce food waste by up to 15% in high-volume lines, supporting global efforts to curb environmental impact.
