GPGI appoints Robert Domodossola as President and CEO of Husky Technologies

Leadership transition aims to accelerate global growth and operational excellence.

CANADA – Industrial technology group GPGI, Inc. has appointed Robert Domodossola as President and Chief Executive Officer of Husky Technologies, effective immediately.

This appointment marks a leadership transition at the global injection moulding systems and packaging technology supplier.

Domodossola, a 30-year veteran of Husky, steps into the role following a long career within the company that has seen him hold several senior engineering and leadership positions.

Most recently, he served as President of Systems and Tooling, a position he has held since November 2023.

Since joining Husky in 1996, Domodossola has played key roles across the organization, including Vice President of Engineering and Business Development, President of Medical and Specialty Packaging Systems, and President of Rigid Packaging.

His career has been closely tied to the development of the company’s technology platforms and global packaging systems business.

Domodossola holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto.

Driving growth and operational excellence

According to David Cote, Executive Chairman of GPGI, the appointment reflects the company’s strategy to accelerate growth while strengthening operational performance.

“I am wonderfully pleased to announce the promotion of Rob Domodossola as President and CEO of Husky,” Cote said.

“He brings a long and tremendously successful Husky career to the position. His background in technology, engineering, sales and marketing will support our increased focus on growth.”

Cote added that Domodossola is widely respected both internally and by customers for his commitment to innovation and service, qualities expected to play a central role as the company expands its global operations.

Taking on the role at a time of transformation for Husky, Domodossola emphasized his commitment to strengthening the company’s strategic direction and delivering value to customers and stakeholders.

“I am honored to lead Husky at such a pivotal moment in our transformation,” Domodossola said.

“With the foundation we have built over the decades at Husky, combined with GPGI’s support, I look forward to driving continued innovation, operational excellence and growth for our customers, shareholders and employees.”

The company also confirmed that outgoing CEO Brad Selleck will support the leadership transition through mid-April, ensuring continuity as the organization moves into its next phase of development.

Industry observers note that leadership changes within major packaging technology suppliers often signal renewed strategic focus on automation, efficiency and sustainable packaging solutions, areas that continue to shape investment across the global packaging machinery sector.
