This expansion affects packaging across the center’s home and personal care segments—where fragrances demand protection against volatile-compound degradation and scent loss over shelf life.

MOROCCO – Givaudan has opened a Casablanca development center to advance fragrance and packaging development, with a dedicated sales team serving customers across the Maghreb and West Africa.
The new center accommodates modern application and perfumery laboratories alongside a development department and office space.
According to Givaudan, the facility will enable faster innovation across Fabric Care, Home Care, Personal Care and Fine Fragrance.
A team of evaluators and marketing managers is also based on site, providing local technical and creative support for customers developing scented products.
Packaging Implications Span Multiple Categories
The expansion carries significant packaging implications across the home and personal care segments the center serves.
Fragrance applications typically require packaging that protects volatile compounds from degradation while preserving scent integrity throughout shelf life.
Fabric care and home care products often use high-density polyethylene bottles, trigger sprayers and dosing caps, while personal care formats rely on glass, PET and airless dispensing systems.
Fine fragrance packaging demands premium finishes, precise atomiser performance and barrier properties that prevent oxidation.
As Givaudan develops formulations closer to regional customers, packaging suppliers serving Morocco and West Africa stand to benefit from shorter development cycles and closer collaboration between fragrance houses, brands and converters.
Regional production of scented products also reduces reliance on imported finished goods, creating opportunities for local packaging manufacturers to supply bottles, closures, pumps and labels that meet the technical requirements of these formulations.
Casablanca Positioned as Strategic Regional Gateway
Maurizio Volpi, president of Givaudan’s Fragrance and Beauty Division, said the expansion aligned fully with the company’s 2030 strategy and reflected a long-term commitment to grow closer to local and regional customers.
He added that by investing in Casablanca, Givaudan was building creative and technical foundations to support customer ambitions with agility and unlock the full potential of these dynamic markets.
Felix Mayr-Harting, Givaudan’s global head of consumer products, described Casablanca as a natural gateway for the group’s regional ambitions, noting the company would rely on a local team with a deep understanding of consumer habits across the region.
Givaudan first established operations in Morocco in March 2025, identifying the Maghreb and West Africa as the fastest-growing fragrance market in the region and a key priority for the company.
