The acquisition brings with it a portfolio of high-quality products, long-standing customer relationships, and the expertise of 260 employees.

USA – Ahlstrom has signed a binding agreement to acquire Pixelle Specialty Solutions’ Stevens Point facility in Wisconsin, a premium solutions provider for food, consumer packaging, and e-commerce applications.
The deal marks a significant step in Ahlstrom’s transformation journey and reinforces its leadership in the Food & Consumer Packaging segment.
The acquisition brings with it a portfolio of high-quality products, long-standing customer relationships, and the expertise of 260 employees. It also adds unique capabilities that will support the global shift toward more sustainable packaging solutions.
“This acquisition aligns with our long-term growth strategy and enhances our ability to deliver added value to customers and stakeholders,” Ahlstrom said in a statement.
The Stevens Point site is expected to complement Ahlstrom’s existing operations, particularly with its state-of-the-art finishing and coating technologies.
These capabilities will enable Ahlstrom to better meet increasing demand for advanced, eco-friendly packaging materials.
The deal will be financed through a US$600 million senior secured loan facility, with remaining funds earmarked for general corporate use.
Post-acquisition, Ahlstrom’s net leverage is projected at 4.1x based on FY 2024 financials. The transaction is pending regulatory approval and is expected to close in Q2 2025.
