Amcor launches Grace actuator for recyclable Wave 2cc Pump in personal care sector

The pump can dispense up to 2cc per stroke and helps reduce leftover product in the container.

SWITZERLAND – Amcor has introduced the Grace actuator for its all-plastic Wave 2cc pump, aiming to improve the consumer experience in personal care products through better design and functionality.

The Grace head features an elegant shape that fits comfortably under the hand, allowing for easy and controlled dispensing.

It incorporates advanced technical elements to ensure precise dosage while maintaining a premium appearance.

Lara Alemany, product line director for beauty and wellness at Amcor, stated, “We designed the Grace head to prove that recycle-readiness and beauty can go hand in hand.”

“Consumers want packaging that looks and feels premium, and we’ve achieved that without compromising on circularity aspects.”

She added that the pump demonstrates the company’s expertise in developing solutions that integrate aesthetics with circular economy practices.

Consumer tests indicate high satisfaction with the Grace head’s ease of use, accurate dosing, and attractive design.

The Wave pump delivers up to 2cc per stroke, enables efficient product release, and reduces residue left in containers.

Constructed entirely from polyolefin materials, the pump is recyclable in regions with suitable collection and processing systems.

It can incorporate up to 30% recycled polypropylene from Amcor’s CleanStream line.

The product achieves RecyClass B certification when paired with PET bottles and RecyClass C with high-density polyethylene bottles.

Its design accommodates various product thicknesses, ranging from thin lotions to dense creams, providing flexibility for personal care applications.

Amcor has also supplied recycled polypropylene stick applicators to Decathlon for skin care items and developed customizable lightweight roll-on packaging for deodorants.

In a separate development reported earlier this month, Amcor relaunched its Lift-Off Challenge for startups, accepting applications until December 12, 2025, to foster innovations in dual end-of-life packaging solutions that support both recycling and composting.
