GERMANY – Commercial and packaging printing provider Baur Offset has elevated its operations with an investment in Fujifilm‘s XMF PressReady workflow solution.
The decision followed a successful three-month beta trial that demonstrated the efficiency and reliability of the system.
Baur Offset’s adoption of Fujifilm’s XMF PressReady signifies a strategic move aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and embracing the advantages of advanced digital print production workflows.
Fujifilm’s XMF PressReady digital print production workflow system effectively manages print jobs from various sources, including web-to-print and MIS systems, or PDF files provided by customers.
By automating routine tasks, the system empowers press operators to focus on critical aspects of the production process.
A significant part of Baur Offset’s services revolves around business card printing. With XMF PressReady, the company has achieved efficiency in this area.
The system seamlessly orchestrates weekly business card print runs by automatically grouping and preparing jobs based on customer names, required copies, and specified media. This level of automation has resulted in significant time and cost savings for Baur Offset.
Dirk Wöbcke, managing director of Baur Offset, remarked, “After creating the workflow once, which was very user-friendly and intuitive to use, the jobs are created each time by PressReady automatically and sent straight to the printer.
“This has resulted in significant time savings, giving us more time to work on other tasks, such as more complex print jobs.
“Overall, the investment has resulted in 30-50% time savings per job, 30-50% cost savings per job, and 15-20% more time for new and other jobs. We are really pleased with how it has benefitted our business.”
John Davies, workflow product group manager at Fujifilm Europe, added, “The investment by Baur Offset marks an exciting time for Fujifilm as we are able to extend our workflow offering to support the majority of digital presses available on the market, so long as it is driven by a Fiery DFE.”
Last month, Fujifilm partnered with eProductivity Software (ePS) to showcase how its XMF PressReady workflow solution can be paired and integrated with eProductivity Software’s MarketDirect StoreFront e-commerce and MIS system to manage print production to Fujifilm’s Revoria and Apeos ranges of digital presses.
Both solutions will be showcased at Fujifilm’s European Print Experience Centres in Germany and Belgium, and will be a major focus at Fujifilm’s Peak Performance Print event in January 2024.
This partnership will enable customers to witness real examples of an end-to-end workflow, from job onboarding via a web-to-print system to registering the job in an MIS system and the complete management of a print job to organize, impose, gang print, and finish.
Customers will have the opportunity to assess which elements of their workflow could be updated to add value to their business.
Additionally, Fujifilm has a team of workflow experts at both Print Experience Centres who can collaborate with customers to create a next-generation workflow offering that will maximize profitability from their new digital press investment.
