GREECE – US-based hybrid packaging company, Berlin Packaging has announced the acquisition of StyleGlass and DiscoGlass, expanding its portfolio in Europe.
Based in Thessaloniki, Greece, StyleGlass specializes in decorating glass packaging for the food, beverage, beauty and pharmaceutical end markets.
The company has been offering decoration techniques such as glassware painting and printing for more than 30 years.
The addition of StyleGlass is intended to strengthen Berlin Packaging’s expertise in decoration and expand its integrated service offering.
Berlin Packaging MED CEO Elias Valavanis said: “The acquisition strengthens the design and innovation capabilities we offer to our customers, one of the key pillars of our hybrid packaging supplier approach.
“Joining our creative and technical forces will bring more value than ever to our customers.”
Following this acquisition, Berlin Packaging is integrating Styleglass into its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) division.
The company will also retain all of Styleglass’ employees and production locations as part of the acquisition.
StyleGlass CEO Christos Charizonas said: “We share many common values with Berlin Packaging, such as a passion for creativity and a willingness to grow and to give our clients beautiful and high-quality packaging that exceeds their expectations.”
StyleGlass is the fifth acquisition for Berlin Packaging in the EMEA region so far this year, as well as the company’s eighth acquisition worldwide since January.
Acquisition of DiscoGlass
Meanwhile, the US-based company has also announced the acquisition of DiscoGlass, a supplier with a reputation in Cognac.
The move is said to improve Berlin Packaging’s position for European premium spirits and wine.
Founded in 1998, family-owned business DiscoGlass is the ninth acquisition Berlin Packaging has completed globally in 2022.
CEO of Berlin Packaging EMEA, Paolo Recrosio, commented: “This acquisition is a unique opportunity to expand our position in the high-end spirits and wine markets. DiscoGlass’s knowledge of cognac and local wine industries will complement Berlin Packaging’s considerable expertise in these key market segments.”
