UK – Eco Flexibles, a sustainability-focused flexible packaging specialist, has marked its commercial evolution with the opening of its new high-tech UK headquarters.
Spanning an impressive 40,000 square feet, the cutting-edge production site signifies a momentous stride for the esteemed Eco Flexibles and underscores its strategic expansion endeavors moving forward.
This strategic move aligns with Eco Flexibles’ remarkable growth trajectory and the surging global demand for its innovative circularity-focused flexible packaging solutions, which encompass recyclable monopolymers and paper-based alternatives.
Simon Buswell, Director at Eco Flexibles, remarked, “Eco Flexibles epitomizes a genuine success story in the realm of packaging.
“Our steadfast commitment to developing and delivering sustainable packaging solutions with a focus on circularity has resonated deeply with the retail market. It became evident that we needed to amplify our operations and augment our team.”
Buswell emphasized that the new facility transcends being merely a futuristic showroom to impress clients; rather, it is meticulously engineered to excel and is equipped with cutting-edge print and converting technology essential for the continuous evolution of the business.
“The market is ever-evolving, and so are we,” added Buswell.
The relocation was accompanied by significant investments in packaging press machinery and technology, including a multi-million-pound installation of a groundbreaking next-generation Fujifilm Jet Press FP790 digital water-based inkjet press earlier this year.
Tailored specifically for the flexible packaging market, it stands as the first of its kind outside of Japan and is complemented by new slitting and laminating capabilities.
“Our new premises afford us comprehensive end-to-end support capabilities, including in-house plate making for our flexo jobs, and enhance our logistical flexibility and capacity like never before,” elaborated Buswell.
“Furthermore, it paves the way for the expansion of our product range, encompassing both off-the-shelf and bespoke packaging solutions. While the future remains uncertain, our investments reassure our customers that we remain steadfast in delivering excellence in flexible packaging, regardless of the circumstances.”
In December of last year, Eco Flexibles appointed David Smith as General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations for the burgeoning business.
In his capacity, Smith ensures the realization of Eco Flexibles’ strategic objectives through operational excellence and continuous improvement, thereby advancing the company’s vision for accessible circularity in flexible packaging.
