Edale rebrands label and carton lines for enhanced customer clarity

The move is the first step in a wider refresh of the company’s product portfolio.

ENGLAND – Edale, a Canon company specializing in flexographic printing and converting equipment, has announced a rebranding of its label and carton product portfolio.

The initiative introduces new naming conventions, with its platforms now called Edale LabelLine and Edale CartonLine.

According to Edale, this move aims to simplify the selection process for customers by clearly categorizing machines based on their capabilities, ensuring they meet specific production needs.

Lachlan Buirds, managing director at Edale, stated, “This is more than a name change; it’s about bringing clarity and confidence to how we present our technology globally.”

The rebranding is the first step in a broader portfolio refresh, with further details expected in the coming months.

All machines will retain Edale’s signature engineering quality, featuring advanced automation like AiiR registration technology and high-definition print modules, designed to enhance efficiency and output quality.

The Edale LabelLine supports high-end label converting with web widths ranging from 13.8 to 22.4 inches, handling substrates from 12 to 450 microns.

Its modular design allows for additional print stations, embellishment modules, and finishing units, enabling converters to adapt capacity while minimizing waste.

The Edale CartonLine, a single-pass flexographic production line, offers high-quality printing, in-line embellishments, and flatbed finishing, reducing labor costs and optimizing factory space.

Edale will showcase its CartonLine at Labelexpo Europe 2025, held from September 16-19 in Barcelona, Spain, alongside Canon Europe.

The event will feature live demonstrations of the CartonLine’s ability to streamline carton production, targeting converters exploring diversification into sustainable packaging solutions.

A recent industry update highlights that Labelexpo Europe 2025 will expand to include folding carton technology, with Edale’s CartonLine among the showcased innovations.

Canon’s stand will also display the UVgel Factory for Labels.

This comprises the Colorado M-series, Fotoba Jumbo Roll JRL 17, and Colex flatbed cutting table, alongside a virtual presentation of the LabelStream LS2000, a five-color inkjet press designed for industrial-scale label printing at speeds up to 131 feet per minute.

Edale’s rebranding complements Canon’s broader strategy to offer integrated solutions for the label and packaging sectors, with an estimated investment of US$10 million in research and development for these technologies over the past two years.

The company anticipates increasing its market share in the sustainable packaging sector by 15% by 2027, driven by these advancements.
