Flint Group slashes greenhouse gas emissions by over a third in latest sustainability push

This achievement is part of the company’s commitment to its Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved goals.

JERSEY – Flint Group has made substantial strides in environmental performance, according to its 2024 Sustainability Report.

The document, covering January to December 2024, outlines achievements under the company’s PRISM framework, which emphasizes product innovation, planetary health, and people-focused initiatives.

Total greenhouse gas emissions dropped 34% from the 2019 baseline, with Scope 1 and 2 emissions falling 3%. These figures put the company on track for a 46.2% overall reduction by 2030.

Electricity use declined 24% compared to 2022 levels, and 23% of the company’s power now derives from renewable sources.

Water consumption also decreased by 24% against the same benchmark, surpassing the initial five percent target.

Pepyn Dinandt, CEO of Flint Group, stated in the report, “Our 2024 Sustainability Report highlights Flint Group’s unwavering commitment to a more responsible future, not just for ourselves, but for our customers and communities as well.”

He added that innovation allows sustainability and performance to advance together through the PRISM framework.

Independent evaluations affirmed these efforts in 2024. The company earned a Gold Rating from EcoVadis for transparency and improvement.

Its greenhouse gas targets gained approval from the Science Based Targets Initiative. In CDP assessments, Flint Group received a B rating for Climate Change and Water Security, along with an A- for Supplier Engagement.

Product developments took center stage, with new inks and coatings designed to promote circularity in packaging.

These solutions enable recyclability and reduce material waste. Meanwhile, the 360°ServiceCode platform provided printers with tools to minimize waste and emissions while enhancing efficiency.

Customers using the platform avoided more than 650 tonnes of CO2 emissions last year.

Dinandt noted indirectly that the team’s innovations create packaging options that support environmental goals without compromising quality.

The report emphasizes how these measures deliver cost savings and operational gains for clients in the packaging sector.

As global demands for eco-friendly materials grow, Flint Group’s data shows a clear path forward.
