USA – Graphic Packaging International has designated Mark Connelly as its Senior Vice President (SVP) of Investor Strategy and Development.
This strategic move aims to fortify the company’s global investor network, aligning with its vision for expansion and diversification.
With over two decades of experience as a securities analyst and strategy consultant, Connelly assumes this pivotal role, reporting directly to Stephen Scherger, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and closely collaborating with Melanie Skijus, the ongoing Head of Investor Relations.
Michael P. Doss, President and CEO of Graphic Packaging, highlighted the company’s transformation, expressing confidence in Connelly’s significant contribution.
He emphasized, “In the past several years, we dramatically reshaped our company to offer a full spectrum of sustainable packaging for consumers’ everyday needs, both at home and on the go.”
Connelly’s expertise in securities analysis and strategic consultancy has notably informed investors within the paper and packaging sectors.
He acknowledged the rapid evolution of the paper and packaging industries, along with the swift changes in consumer preferences, making strategic decisions increasingly complex.
Connelly commended Graphic Packaging’s leadership choices, foreseeing opportunities benefiting all stakeholders.
In the third quarter (Q3) of 2023, Graphic Packaging recorded a net income of US$170 million, a 12% decline from the prior year’s Q3, with net sales totaling US$2.34 billion.
Paperboard Packaging Council names Emily Leonczyk as Executive Director and VP
Simultaneously, the Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) elevated Emily Leonczyk to Executive Director and Vice President.
With a robust career in business, nonprofit association management, and five years in the paperboard industry, Leonczyk will oversee PPC’s operations, drive stakeholder collaboration, and spearhead strategic initiatives.
Leonczyk’s tenure at PPC since 2018, initially as Director of Marketing and Communications, then advancing to Director of Operations, underscores her pivotal role in shaping the organization’s contemporary vision.
Her guidance through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, transitioning to virtual events and successfully reinstating in-person engagements to pre-pandemic levels, showcases her leadership.
Emphasizing the importance of thoughtful listening and cross-industry collaboration, Leonczyk aims to tailor PPC’s programs to meet the evolving needs of its members and the industry. Sustainability is central to her vision, advocating for paperboard as a renewable and recyclable packaging material and cultivating a sustainable workforce.
She is committed to equipping PPC members with the tools to champion the sustainable value of paperboard packaging and foster the next generation of industry leaders.
PPC President Ben Markens will retain his role, steering the association’s overall vision and strategy. For over 90 years, PPC has been the premier North American association for paperboard packaging converters and suppliers.
