SPAIN – Mespack, a global leader in flexible packaging solutions, has formalized a partnership with Mondi, a leading global packaging and paper company, to accelerate the development of sustainable flexible packaging.
This collaboration focuses on creating paper-based packaging solutions that align with increasing demand for recyclable and eco-friendly alternatives in the market.
The partnership, building on previous collaborations between the two companies, aims to co-develop innovative packaging that uses Mondi’s sustainable materials, produced on Mespack’s advanced machinery.
Together, they are working on a range of paper-based packaging solutions, including a new stand-up paper pouch designed to provide a high barrier for products requiring extra protection.
Mespack and Mondi have already developed a recyclable stand-up pouch using Mondi’s FunctionalBarrier Paper 95/5, manufactured on a Mespack horizontal form-fill-and-seal machine.
This successful collaboration exemplifies how both companies drive the transition towards more sustainable packaging in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

The new partnership signifies a long-term commitment to bring recyclable and environmentally friendly packaging solutions to market continuously.
Mondi, previously a preferred partner of Mespack, has been instrumental in developing flexible paper structures that run efficiently on Mespack machines.
The partnership will now intensify efforts to provide FMCG companies with sustainable packaging solutions that align with emerging market trends and sustainability goals.
One key advantage of Mespack’s technology is its adaptability. Existing machines can be retrofitted with modules to handle sustainable materials, ensuring a smooth transition for manufacturers looking to adopt eco-friendly packaging without overhauling their production lines.
Mespack’s Innovation Centre (MIC) will be crucial in testing and developing these sustainable solutions.
Customers can trial recyclable structures and receive expert guidance in a controlled environment, ensuring minimal disruption to their production processes.
This facility allows for accurate testing and data collection, enabling businesses to integrate sustainable packaging into their operations confidently.
