The partnership enables Power Packaging’s expertise to be combined with its existing sales and production network

GERMANY – German paper and packaging firm Palm Group has acquired a 50% stake in Power Packaging, a Czech Republic-based specialist in corrugated solutions.
The deal, announced recently, targets growth in custom packaging that demands high levels of manual craftsmanship.
According to company statements, the partnership combines Power Packaging’s technical expertise with Palm’s established sales networks and manufacturing infrastructure across Europe.
This setup aims to support development of intricate packaging for diverse industries.
Ralph Wakolbinger, managing director of Power Packaging, highlighted the benefits in a statement.
“By partnering with Palm, we have gained a strategically important partner who shares our goals and supports us in successfully developing major international projects, including those in the east,” he said.
The collaboration, he added, fosters synergies and aids in pursuing sustainable expansion.
Power Packaging runs a dedicated processing plant in Nýrsko, located in the country’s western region.
The facility specializes in producing detailed corrugated cardboard items. Last year, the company generated annual revenues of US$4.63 million.
Under the agreement, Power Packaging will maintain its family-owned structure for the long term. Both sides emphasized compatible operational values and principles.
The firm will keep its current organizational framework and leadership intact.
Marina Palm, CEO of Palm Group, noted that the joint venture enhances offerings for clients.
She explained that it allows the group to deliver a wider array of complex packaging options throughout Europe.
This investment forms part of Palm Group’s active year in Europe. In July 2025, the company finalized the purchase of five plants from International Paper, adding sites in France, Portugal, and Spain to its portfolio.
That transaction stemmed from regulatory requirements tied to International Paper’s takeover of DS Smith.
Earlier this month, U.S.-based Welch Packaging Group completed a merger with ABCOR Packaging in Tennessee.
The deal integrates ABCOR’s corrugated production capabilities, creating a stronger regional presence for custom shipping solutions.
