FRANCE – Schneider Electric, a leader in energy management and automation’s digital transformation, has called for united efforts to decarbonize the global economy while ensuring an equitable and inclusive shift towards net zero.

The company outlined its planned actions during the upcoming COP28 United Nations Climate Change Conference to bolster these initiatives.

Thousands of government and private-sector leaders, climate experts, NGOs, youth groups, and stakeholders will convene in Dubai from November 30 to December 12.

Recognizing that energy accounts for over 70% of carbon emissions, Schneider Electric’s delegates will emphasize the untapped potential of electrification, automation, and digital technologies.

They’ll illustrate the societal and economic advantages of implementing such solutions across industries, buildings, homes, data centers, infrastructure, and transportation.

Peter Herweck, CEO of Schneider Electric, highlighted, “We possess an array of technologies available today. It’s crucial to understand that deploying these technologies at a larger scale and faster pace reaps social, environmental, economic, and job creation benefits.

“They can reduce emissions and expenses more rapidly than commonly perceived, and inaction is not a viable choice.”

During COP28’s Technology & Innovation Hub, the company will host discussions, exhibit solutions, and participate in panel discussions on corporate decarbonization, youth empowerment, and supply chain engagement. Additionally, Schneider Electric will.
