Valmet to deliver advanced automation to Papertech Industries in Bangladesh

The order was included in Valmet’s orders received of the second quarter 2025

FINLAND – Finnish technology leader Valmet has secured its first order from Papertech Industries in Bangladesh for a comprehensive automation package, set to enhance production quality and efficiency at the company’s manufacturing site.

The delivery, scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025, marks a significant step for Papertech as it adopts cutting-edge automation to elevate its operations.

The package includes Bangladesh’s first distributed control system featuring the Valmet DNAe User Interface.

This modern interface offers intuitive workflows, enabling operators to manage larger process areas with greater ease and minimal effort.

According to Valmet, the system will streamline operations, reduce quality variability, and optimize raw material usage, creating a secure and user-friendly automation environment.

Amer Yusuf, managing director of Papertech Industries, stated, “We chose Valmet for their advanced technology and expertise. This partnership will equip us with top-tier European systems to produce world-class paper.”

The company, which specializes in packaging and industrial-grade paper, reported US$5.8 million in revenue in its first full production year in 2019 and focuses on sustainable practices for domestic and regional markets.

Ramesh Chandra, Valmet’s Automation Solutions sales manager for India and Asia-Pacific, noted that the delivery aligns with Papertech’s vision to become a leading quality paper producer.

He emphasized that the automation package will support the company’s goals of improving quality, reducing costs, and enhancing sustainability in paper production.

In a related development, Valmet recently announced a separate order to supply two fine papermaking lines with automation systems to a customer in China, further expanding its global footprint in process industries.

This follows another recent contract, reported on August 20, 2025, where Valmet partnered with Inteka to deliver distributed control system solutions across Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

The automation package for Papertech is expected to set a new benchmark in Bangladesh’s paper industry, enabling the company to achieve greater operational efficiency and meet rising demands for high-quality, sustainable packaging solutions.

With this investment, Papertech aims to strengthen its position in the regional market while advancing its commitment to resource-efficient production.
