Riyadh hosts Global Water Expo with Over 300 premium firms

SAUDI ARABIA – The Global Water Expo, Saudi Arabia’s largest and most influential trade fair dedicated to the water sector, opened on September 2 at the Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Center.

Organized by dmg events, the three-day exhibition brings together more than 300 leading international and regional companies, showcasing solutions for water, wastewater, and environmental services.

With exhibitors from over 25 countries, including the Czech Republic, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, Türkiye, the UK, and the US, the expo highlights technologies that address water scarcity, treatment, and reuse.

Dedicated country pavilions from China, Germany, India, Spain, and Switzerland further reinforce the event’s international scope.

The exhibition comes at a critical time, as Saudi Arabia ramps up investment in sustainable water infrastructure.

The National Water Company recently announced 30 new water and sewerage projects across Riyadh worth US$533 million, underscoring the urgent demand for high-impact solutions to meet rising urban and industrial needs.

“Global Water Expo represents a strategic event for the Kingdom’s water sector, connecting local and international solution providers with opportunities in the market,” said Muhammed Kazi, Senior Vice President of dmg events.

“The event reflects both the rapid growth of the sector and its alignment with Vision 2030 water priorities and sustainability goals.”

Industry research indicates strong momentum. According to 6W Research, Saudi Arabia’s water and wastewater treatment market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 5.86% between 2025 and 2031, driven by population growth, industrial expansion, and stricter sustainability targets.

Meanwhile, government data shows the use of treated wastewater in the Kingdom has grown nearly 200% since 2007, with further 4% annual growth expected through 2050.

Exhibitors at this year’s event span global leaders and regional specialists. Wilo, Xylem, ABB, Veolia, LG Chem, Toray, and Ebara are among the companies unveiling advanced pumps, membranes, treatment systems, and monitoring technologies.

Local players such as Reda Water and National Water Works Company are also showcasing solutions tailored to the Kingdom’s needs.
