3PL Kenco adds contract packaging division

Kenco views the division as a key investment to enhance its services and support operational improvements in secondary packaging for its clients.

UK – Third-party logistics provider Kenco has introduced a new Contract Packaging Division to expand its operations in custom packaging and supply chain management.

The division targets retail-ready packaging, assembly for ecommerce fulfillment, promotional wrapping, labeling for compliance, and process improvements.

According to company details, these services aim to reduce supply chain steps, incorporate automation for efficiency, and apply lean methods to cut waste and lower costs.

The new unit handles custom-packed assortments for retail shelves, point-of-purchase displays, and pre-packaged components.

It also covers manual and automated assembly, product bundling for promotions, and modifications. For promotional needs, secure packaging and protective films enhance retail appeal.

Labeling solutions ensure adherence to customer and regulatory standards, including for bottled and canned goods. Process optimization provides tailored enhancements to boost quality and ongoing efficiency.

Rob Doyle, group vice president leading the division, stated, “This new division will provide users the right packaging to make their products pop on the shelves while cutting costs and improving sustainability.”

The approach uses real-time data and waste reduction techniques to streamline operations for both Kenco and its clients.

In a related development, Kenco achieved its first ranking on the 2025 Inc. 5000 List of America’s Fastest Growing Private Companies, announced earlier this month.

The recognition highlights the company’s revenue growth from 2021 to 2024, placing it among independent U.S. businesses that added over 48,000 jobs nationwide in three years.

Kenco now operates with more than 7,500 employees across 140 North American locations.

Denis Reilly, president and CEO at Kenco, described the milestone in a statement as a celebration of employee efforts amid rapid logistical demands.

The company has grown jobs by nearly 56% in recent years, including acquisitions like The Shippers Group in Dallas, which added 3.8 million square feet of warehousing space, and Drexel Industries in Canada.

Rebecca Wilson, group vice president of human resources, noted that the firm’s integrated logistics, covering distribution, ecommerce, transportation, and material handling, depend on dedicated teams at each site.

To fuel expansion, Kenco is recruiting for salaried, hourly, and driver roles throughout the U.S. Interested candidates can check openings at the company’s careers page.

This growth comes as Kenco marks 75 years in business, with recent additions in life science logistics and warehouse equipment support.

The Contract Packaging Division fits into broader efforts to offer connected solutions that meet evolving client requirements in a competitive market.
