Cosmo First promotes Piyush Gupta to lead specialty chemicals business, printing solutions expansion

INDIA – Cosmo First has promoted Piyush Gupta as business head of its wholly owned subsidiary, Cosmo Speciality Chemicals, where he will lead expansion of masterbatches, adhesives and coating solutions for flexible packaging and printing applications across global markets.

The elevation places Gupta in charge of driving overall business expansion, devising long-term growth strategies, expanding to new markets and strengthening the existing consumer base. 

In addition to his new role, he will continue to oversee certain global sales and marketing responsibilities for the company’s Cosmo Films vertical. 

Cosmo Specialty Chemicals, established in 2020, manufactures masterbatches, adhesives and coating chemicals primarily for the flexible packaging industry, with products also serving printing and other industrial applications. 

The company recently expanded its masterbatch portfolio with CosmoWhite and CosmoAdd platforms for PP and PE applications in BOPP, CPP and blown films.

Gupta has over 32 years of international experience in operations, P&L oversight, multi-channel product distribution, global sales and marketing, and business development, including over 27 years in the polymeric films and flexible packaging industry. 

Prior to joining Cosmo First, he held leadership positions at JBF RAK (UAE), Flex Middle East (UAE) and UFlex (India). 

The specialty chemicals business delivered 25%+ EBITDA margins in Q4 FY26, powered by its three core verticals, coating chemicals, masterbatches and adhesives. 

Group CEO Pankaj Poddar said that Gupta has a proven track record of demonstrating strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of the business along with industry expertise. 

He added that Gupta’s elevation reflects the company’s confidence in his ability to steer the business to the next phase of growth.
