This is additional evidence of GreenDot’s commitment to scaling the circular economy of plastic in Europe

NORWAY – Norway-based chemical recycling firm Agilyx ASA has acquired a 44% stake in GreenDot Global, widely regarded as Europe’s premier plastic recycling platform.
The transaction, announced on July 17, 2025, is set to enhance Agilyx’s footprint in the European secondary commodities market, fostering a robust global network for sourcing and supplying feedstock to the advanced recycling sector.
GreenDot Global, rooted in Germany’s Der Grüne Punkt – Duales System Deutschland (DSD), operates an extensive recyclables collection network.
Acquired by Luxembourg-based Circular Resources in 2022 after a thwarted purchase attempt by Remondis, GreenDot processes over 1 million tons of packaging waste annually, including 400,000 tons of plastic, and holds licenses across 29 countries.
“We are thrilled to expand Agilyx’s reach into Europe as we build a global platform to supply feedstock to the plastic recycling industry,” said Agilyx CEO Ranjeet Bhatia in a statement.
“GreenDot is the recognized industry leader in Europe, has tremendous momentum in the fast-developing advanced recycling market, and is a great complement to Agilyx’s existing activities.”
Laurent Auguste, CEO of GreenDot, emphasized the strategic value of the collaboration highlighting that the new capital injection will support expansion of facilities in Germany, Austria, and Italy.
“This is additional evidence of GreenDot’s commitment to scaling the circular economy of plastic in Europe,” he stated.
Earlier this year, Agilyx launched Plastyx Ltd., a joint venture with Circular Resources, aiming to source 200,000 metric tons of waste plastic by the end of 2025.
According to a recent update, Plastyx has already secured memorandums of understanding for 150,000 metric tons, reaching 75% of its target.
The acquisition, fully financed through a US$23.2 million subordinated loan facility, is expected to close in late Q3 2025, pending regulatory approvals and shareholder consent.
By integrating GreenDot’s extensive network with Agilyx’s proprietary technologies, such as the Styrenyx pyrolysis process, the partnership aims to deliver recycled styrene monomers to major brands, supporting compliance with the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation.
