CHINA – International technology group ANDRITZ has signed a significant contract with Sun Paper Nanning Paper Co., Ltd. to supply two advanced stock preparation systems and a complete P-RC APMP (Pre-Conditioning Refiner Chemical Alkaline Peroxide Mechanical Pulp) line.
The systems will be installed at Sun Paper’s facility in Nanning, China, with operations scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2025.
The new systems are designed to enhance the efficiency of Nanning Sun Paper’s production lines while reducing energy consumption.
ANDRITZ’s scope of supply includes modern stock preparation systems, paper machine approach technology, under-machine pulpers (UTM), and broke systems, all tailored to deliver high-quality pulp for the facility’s two paper machines.
The two machines will focus on different types of production. PM11 will produce high-quality testliner with a capacity of up to 1,438 admt/d, while PM12 will manufacture premium offset paper with a maximum capacity of 1,100 admt/d.
Additionally, the P-RC APMP line—ANDRITZ’s seventh for Sun Paper—will process 450 admt/d of eucalyptus, producing top-grade pulp for premium printing and writing paper.
ANDRITZ’s equipment offering covers the entire production chain, from silo dischargers to wood chip impregnation, bleaching, low-consistency (LC) refining, screening, and rejects treatment.
Innovative components include the PrimeMSD Impressafiner, which optimizes wood chip pre-treatment and chemical impregnation to reduce energy and chemical use, and eight newly developed TwinFlo Prime Refiners for efficient operation and low maintenance.
The PrimeScreen X, another key component, ensures high screening efficiency while minimizing energy consumption.
In addition to equipment supply, ANDRITZ will provide installation supervision, commissioning, training, and start-up assistance.
Highlighting the strong partnership, Mr. Ying Guangdong, Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer of Sun Paper Group, expressed his trust in ANDRITZ, “Based on our long-standing collaboration, we trust ANDRITZ to deliver high-performance, reliable, and energy-efficient technological solutions.”
Beyond this, ANDRITZ has recently expanded its global footprint with a major contract in Saudi Arabia.
Juthor Paper Manufacturing Co., part of the Middle East Paper Co. (MEPCO) Group, has commissioned ANDRITZ to deliver a state-of-the-art tissue production line.
Scheduled for a 2026 start-up, this high-capacity machine will operate at a design speed of 2,200 m/min and a reel width of 5.47 m, making it one of the fastest in the world.
The Saudi project will incorporate advanced automation and digitalization technologies to ensure optimal operational efficiency, energy savings, and superior product quality.
These projects underscore ANDRITZ’s commitment to driving innovation and efficiency in the global paper and pulp industry.
