USA – Aptar, a prominent packaging manufacturer, has unveiled a novel line of fully recyclable flow control dispensing solutions named SimpliCycle.
This innovative solution caters to a diverse array of products, with a primary focus on food and beverage applications, particularly condiments and sauces.
Aptar Closures emphasizes that SimpliCycle has been meticulously designed to meet the demands of brand owners who prioritize both environmental responsibility and regulatory standards.
The flow control valve within SimpliCycle provides precise and hygienic dispensing, while its design facilitates mechanical recycling, bolstering the sustainability profile without compromising performance.
Crafted from low-density thermoplastic elastomer, SimpliCycle valves are engineered to easily separate from the polyethylene terephthalate (PET) stream during the recycling process.
These valves effortlessly float to the top, enabling their subsequent recycling within the polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) streams.
When integrated with a compatible Aptar closure, SimpliCycle forms a completely recyclable solution compatible with PET, PE, or PP containers.
The line of valves is available in various sizes and configurations, suitable for both rigid and flexible containers, and adept at handling a broad spectrum of product viscosities.
Beyond sustainability, the design of SimpliCycle prevents drips, leaks, or spills. Its compatibility with inverted storage ensures consumers can utilize the entire contents of each package, enhancing user convenience.
Raphael Grange, President of Global Marketing Development at Aptar Closures, underscores the increasing emphasis on sustainability globally.
He acknowledges the challenges faced by many brands in providing more recyclable packaging solutions without compromising performance, convenience, and product safety.
Aptar Closures leverages decades of consumer and market expertise to help brands innovate, meet evolving market demands, and achieve ambitious environmental goals, all while delivering packaging solutions that uphold the consumer experience.
This announcement follows Aptar’s May 2023 development of a convenient product packaging solution for Italian food giant Ferrero’s sweet tea soft drink brand, ‘Estathé.’
The innovative sports cap packaging, named Rocket, was designed based on consumer studies and insights to address market requirements.
Aptar’s Rocket sports cap offers Estathé consumers a resealable cap option for on-the-go use, ensuring a tight and secure closure.
The design features a hygienic double-wall lid that safeguards the beverage drinking portion from external contaminants.
The Rocket design adheres to the consumer safety and child safety standards of the British Soft Drinks Association. The collaboration with Ferrero has proven mutually beneficial, providing consumers with a convenient and secure packaging solution.
