ITALY – CCL Industries, a global leader in specialty labels, security, and packaging solutions, has announced the opening of a new production site in Novi Ligure, located in northern Italy.
This facility will primarily serve the local spirits and beverage industry, home to several prestigious brands.
Reinhard Streit, Vice President and Managing Director of CCL’s Food & Beverage division expressed the company’s excitement about expanding its presence in Italy, “We are eager to grow our footprint in Italy by leveraging our global expertise at a local level.
“With the strong demand for premium, high-embellished labels in the region’s renowned wine and spirits sector, this new site is a perfect fit. CCL has a long history of excellence in product decoration and advanced printing technology.”
The new facility will specialize in producing pressure-sensitive labels with intricate embellishments tailored specifically for the wine and spirits industry.
Sustainability is also a key focus for the new production site. According to Barbara Chittaro, Business Development Manager for Wine & Spirits in Italy, “Sustainable label options will play a vital role, especially as brands work to meet the upcoming Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) requirements.
“Our sustainable label solutions help brands reduce, reuse, and recycle by offering labels with a lower carbon footprint, innovative adhesive technologies that support recycling, and recycled content.”
The new Italian facility is designed to handle both medium and large production runs while offering pre-and post-sales support through CCL’s extensive global network of production sites.
The site also reflects CCL’s commitment to sustainability, featuring energy-efficient and renewable technologies like solar panels and state-of-the-art air filtration and conditioning systems.
Additionally, the facility is equipped with cutting-edge machinery, including no-stop unwinding and rewinding systems that eliminate reel change times, significantly reducing waste, even during fragmented production.
The site also includes an advanced design department with an in-house ink kitchen to ensure flexibility and precision in label design.
This is CCL’s second Food & Beverage production site in Italy. Last year, the company acquired a pouch production plant from CapriSun Group, specializing in gravure-printed and laminated flexible film materials for pouch forming, including recyclable mono-material solutions.
Early this year, the company introduced EcoFloat® WHITE, the latest addition to its esteemed line of low-density polyolefin sleeve materials.
Designed to revolutionize recyclability in dairy packaging and other light-sensitive products, EcoFloat WHITE promises to be a game-changer in the industry.
Traditionally, the dairy sector has relied on opaque materials like HDPE for packaging yogurt, probiotic drinks, and similar items.
