HAHN Plastics appoints Rob Pietrzak as Finance Director amid UK site modernisation drive

Pietrzak’s expertise is expected to be key to achieving those ambitions, and Cardona added that his collaborative style and focus on continuous improvement make him an excellent leadership team addition.

UK – HAHN Plastics UK has appointed Rob Pietrzak as director of finance and professional services, bringing over 25 years of financial expertise to the Greater Manchester-based manufacturer as it accelerates a major programme of site modernisation and investment.

Pietrzak joins HPUK with more than 25 years’ experience in finance, including over 16 years with a global medical technology company where he held senior finance positions across the UK and Europe.

In his new role, he will lead strategic planning, financial reporting and budgeting while also overseeing the company’s HR and IT functions.

Founded in 1993, HPUK manufactures high-quality alternatives to virgin plastic, wood, concrete and steel, made from recycled plastics.

Investment Programme and Site Modernisation Underway

Max Cardona, general manager of HPUK, stated that the company is investing significantly in its site, systems and people as it builds the foundations for the next phase of growth, with Pietrzak’s expertise expected to be instrumental in helping achieve those ambitions.

Cardona added that Pietrzak’s collaborative approach and focus on continuous improvement make him an excellent addition to the leadership team.

HPUK is one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of recycled plastic products, with its headquarters in Bolton and additional facilities in Germany and Poland.

The company’s main products include recycled plastic lumber, sheets, boards, decking, fencing, street furniture and livestock handling systems, all manufactured from post-consumer and post-industrial waste plastic.

Commitment to Circular Economy and Sustainability

HAHN Plastics is wholly owned by HAHN Plastics GmbH, a German company that has been processing plastic waste into high-quality, durable and sustainable products for more than 30 years.

The company’s material is made of fully recycled polyethylene that has been collected, sorted and prepared for re-processing using HAHN’s own formula.

HPUK’s products are compatible with standard woodworking tools and are suitable for use in a wide range of applications, from agricultural and equestrian to construction and outdoor furniture.

Pietrzak stated that as the business continues to grow, he is looking forward to working with the team to build on the progress already being made and help deliver the company’s long-term ambitions.

The appointment comes as part of a broader investment strategy to modernise the Bolton site and expand the company’s manufacturing capabilities.
