Rodney Steel retires as head of BCMPA

Elsewhere, Rodney Steel has retired as chief executive of the BCMPA – The Association for Contract Manufacturing, Packing, Fulfilment & Logistics.

Over the last 20 years, Steel has led the BCMPA to become a major force promoting the services of the UK’s contract manufacturing, packing, fulfillment and logistics sectors.

His retirement brings both a period of celebration and sadness, but above all presents an opportunity to acknowledge his significant accomplishments.

Emma Verkaik, the new chief executive, said brand owners, retailers, and manufacturers increasingly recognize that outsourcing plays a significant role to take their products to market and be readily available in-store or online.

“I am proud to have worked with Rodney on this journey and know I join many others in wishing him well in his retirement. Thank you, Rodney,” said Verkaik.

“Through his vision and focus we have made significant strides in raising the profile of the BCMPA membership to a wider audience across the industry sectors that we represent whilst raising the importance of collaborative working between customer and supplier.”

She added that she looked forward to building on the strong foundations and ensuring that the BCMPA membership continues to ‘thrive in this innovative and solution-led industry’.
