Manufacturers adopt SENTINEL for automated labeling

The solution automates label printing and reduces waste.

USA – Manufacturers worldwide are turning to Teklynx’s SENTINEL software to automate label printing, cut down on material waste, and handle custom packaging needs more efficiently.

The solution integrates with systems like enterprise resource planning and warehouse management to trigger prints based on specific events.

This automation helps companies meet regulatory requirements without relying on manual methods that often lead to errors.

SENTINEL supports 1D and 2D barcodes, as well as RFID tags, for better product tracking.

It also allows for real-time label adjustments using dynamic data, which minimizes print mistakes and excess use of materials.

In a statement, Teklynx Americas product manager Travis Wayne explained that the software speeds up production by automating prints from existing systems, leading to higher output.

Companies in sectors such as retail, food and beverage, medical devices, chemicals, automotive, and metals have started using SENTINEL.

For example, US-based Flex-Strut, which makes metal strut framing systems, doubled its label printing speed after implementation.

Flex-Strut IT director Terry Kakavros said: “SENTINEL enables us to use our ERP system to print labels, which means labelling is no longer a bottleneck.”

He added that before the change, updating labels took more time than processing sales orders.

Award Highlights Implementation Success

In June 2025, Teklynx earned the Top Supply Chain Projects Award from Supply & Demand Chain Executive for its SENTINEL rollout at TaylorMade Golf.

The golf equipment maker brought labeling operations in-house, reducing wasted stock through on-demand printing.

According to company reports, integration with internal IT systems allowed variable data like addresses and product details to be printed from any site, eliminating pre-printed label distribution.

SENTINEL added support for QR codes and languages including Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese to serve global markets.

As a result, TaylorMade raised labeling accuracy from 85% to 99% and halved equipment costs.

Doug Niemeyer, president and general manager at Teklynx Americas, noted in a statement: “Our collaboration with TaylorMade has evolved into a true partnership, what started as a standard implementation has grown into ongoing innovation, continuously improving their labeling environment.”

Expanding automation tools

Teklynx has also introduced a Software Development Kit to further automate label printing.

This tool lets developers embed printing features into warehouse management or ERP systems, offering scalability for different business sizes and compatibility with over 4,000 printer drivers.

The kit includes RESTful API for smoother integration, helping reduce development time while maintaining print quality.
