FRANCE – Frugalpac, a manufacturer of recyclable liquid packaging, has created a special edition paper wine bottle to celebrate the visit of the King and Queen to Bordeaux, France.
The Frugal Bottle is made from 94% recycled cardboard. The commemorative Cardbordeaux 2023 bottle features the King’s Cypher and the Bordeaux crest on the front. On the back, there is a message in French addressed to the King and Queen.
Frugalpac Chief Executive Malcolm Waugh, who attended a Franco-British trade event with the King and Queen, stated, “The King has been an inspiration in promoting sustainability and was one of the pioneers in establishing a bottle bank in the UK, specifically at Buckingham Palace in 1980.
“That’s why we wanted to do something special to commemorate the King and Queen’s state visit to France. We have produced a commemorative Cardbordeaux 2023 bottle to express our gratitude for his long-standing commitment to the environment and advocacy for sustainability.
“We were particularly proud to showcase the French wine producers who are currently using our paper bottle. A great example of Britain and France collaborating to reduce carbon emissions in the drinks industry.”
JDO designs bottle for Brockmans Orange Kiss
Meanwhile, the international strategic design agency JDO has designed Brockmans Orange Kiss, a new expression from the defiantly British gin brand known for its unconventional approach to gin-making.
Recognizing the evolving landscape of the market, Brockmans aimed to captivate both their loyal audience and a new wave of drinkers by offering an experience that seamlessly transitions from sunny afternoons to extraordinary nights.
This led to the creation of Brockmans Orange Kiss, a refreshing gin infused with Valencia oranges to capture the vibrant taste of sun-kissed sweetness and tangy zest.
JDO served as a strategic creative partner throughout the entire creative process, collaborating from the initial stages of ideation to the final design of the bottle.
Their expertise played a crucial role in identifying growth opportunities and delivering creative solutions to engage and captivate both on- and off-trade audiences.
The design of Brockmans Orange Kiss reimagines the brand’s assets to effectively communicate this new proposition with finesse and style.
Building upon the architectural foundations of Brockmans’ core design, the new expression employs vivid colours to evoke the drinking experience.
The most striking feature of the design is the two-tone bottle, which seamlessly transitions from an orange glow at the base to the Brockmans’ black at the top.
Meticulous attention was given to achieving the perfect gradient, infusing it with the weight and depth necessary to convey the moment when the sun is about to set.
Fiona Florence, Managing Director at JDO, says, “Our creative team paid close attention to the colours and details in the design of Brockman’s Orange Kiss to create a story of a refreshing and vibrant gin that you can enjoy from sunset into the evening.
“In designing for a different occasion, they made sure to maintain the mysterious and alluring essence that Brockmans is renowned for as a gin of the night.”
