The Caerphilly facility holds strong positions in facestock for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage labels, wet-glue labels for beer bottles, home and personal care labels, and other applications where print quality and premium aesthetics are essential.

UK – Polyart Group has acquired Magnera’s Caerphilly, Wales metallised paper operations, adding advanced lacquering and metallising capabilities that strengthen its position in premium label printing for beverage, home and personal care markets across Europe and the United States.
The transaction, completed on 12 June 2026, follows a strategic portfolio review by Magnera Corporation that initiated a formal sale process for the Caerphilly business.
The facility, now renamed Polyart Metallised UK, employs 44 people and specialises in high-performance metallised facestock papers for pressure-sensitive and wet-glue label applications.
The business reported turnover of £20.8 million (US$27.8 million) in its most recent accounts and generates most of its sales outside the UK, serving customers across Europe and the US.
How Advanced Lacquering and Metallising Capabilities Enhance Label Print Quality
The acquisition adds advanced lacquering and metallising technology to Polyart’s existing film and coating capabilities.
Metallised paper delivers superior shine, gloss and oxygen barrier protection while remaining compatible with conventional paper recycling streams.
The Caerphilly facility holds strong positions in facestock for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage labels, wet-glue labels for beer bottles, home and personal care labels, and other applications where print quality and premium aesthetics are essential.
Stéphane Daveau, CEO of Polyart Group, said that the acquisition strengthened the company’s commitment to offering comprehensive, high-end labelling solutions while fostering sustainable growth for customers and stakeholders.
Why Premium Branding Trends Drive Demand for Metallised Label Paper
Polyart Group was formed in 2020 through the combination of Arjobex, MDV, Tech Folien and Reisewitz, employing approximately 280 people worldwide with sales of around €83 million (US$96 million).
The company is headquartered in Boulogne-Billancourt, France and owned by Prudentia Capital. Magnera CEO Curt Begle said that the company was deeply grateful for the dedication and commitment of the Caerphilly team and wished them continued success as they joined Polyart.
He added that Magnera valued the loyalty of its customers and remained fully committed to supporting a seamless transition.
Prudentia Capital founding partner Dominik Zwerger said that Prudentia Capital was pleased to add the Caerphilly operations to its growing portfolio and was excited about the additional value the business could bring to existing customers.
The global metallised paper market is projected to grow as demand for sustainable, visually appealing packaging alternatives to plastic films continues to rise.
