Prateek Graphics installs India’s first Epson SurePress L-6534VW, redefining label printing standards

The press offers digital varnishing capability for selective gloss or matte finishes.

INDIA – Prateek Graphics, a subsidiary of Prateek Metal Industries, has become the first company in India to install the Epson SurePress L-6534VW, a next-generation UV digital label press.

The machine, housed at the company’s 25,000 sq. ft. facility in Sonipat, Haryana, represents a significant leap in India’s label printing capabilities.

The SurePress L-6534VW is designed for short- to mid-volume prime label production, capable of printing at speeds of up to 164 ft/min.

Equipped with Epson’s PrecisionCore printheads and Variable-Sized Droplet Technology, it delivers ultra-sharp graphics at resolutions up to 600 x 1,200 dpi, with droplet sizes as small as 3.2 picoliters.

Its advanced features include digital varnishing for selective gloss or matte finishes, high-opacity white ink, and compliance with international food packaging safety standards, making it ideal for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, and industrial products.

“We have a fleet of machines with different configurations and post-press finishing equipment, but this new Epson UV label press redefines what we can deliver to our clients,” said Manoj Arora, Director of Prateek Graphics.

“Its high-quality output, flexible speed modes, and stable operation give us an edge in the competitive label printing market.”

Founded in 1994 in New Delhi, Prateek Metal Industries has steadily grown into a trusted supplier of printed labels and stickers.

The investment in Epson’s flagship digital press signals the company’s ambition to expand its footprint in high-value packaging segments, responding to growing demand for premium, sustainable, and safe packaging solutions in India.

Industry experts note that India’s packaging and labeling market is undergoing rapid digital transformation.

With rising demand for shorter print runs, customization, and faster turnaround times, digital presses like the SurePress L-6534VW are gaining traction over conventional flexographic methods.

According to industry projections, India’s label printing market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6–7% through 2030, fueled by booming consumer goods, e-commerce, and pharmaceutical sectors.

Epson India has been actively expanding its digital printing solutions in the country. The SurePress series, already popular in global markets, is increasingly being adopted by Indian converters seeking higher efficiency and reduced waste.

Arora said the decision to invest was based on print quality, price-performance balance, and the machine’s ability to support sustainable growth.

“This is not just an investment in a machine, it’s an investment in our future,” he added.
