Promographic & Design boosts production with Vetaphone corona technology investment

Operating from a 14,000 sq ft (1,350 sqm) facility, Promographic & Design currently employs 75 people.

MEXICO – Promographic & Design, a specialist narrow web converter based in Guadalajara, has enhanced its production capabilities by installing Vetaphone corona treatment technology on its Nilpeter flexo and HP Indigo digital presses.

The move supports the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality labels, pouches, and shrink sleeves to clients across various industries.

Founded in 2005 by Ricardo Villar and Federico Padilla, Promographic & Design emerged in response to a growing demand for consistent, high-quality labels, initially from Natura Laboratories, now Henkel Mexico.

Since then, Promographic & Design has expanded its reach and product offering to serve clients in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, automotive, and electronics sectors.

“Our specialty is producing high-quality shrink sleeves, self-adhesive labels, and pouches,” said co-founder Ricardo Villar.

“Excellence in both print and service is our core value. That’s why we continuously invest in state-of-the-art technology, premium materials, and top-tier talent.”

Operating from a 14,000 sq ft (1,350 sqm) facility, Promographic & Design currently employs 75 people and generates annual sales of approximately US$7 million.

Its products are shipped to 52 countries across five continents. According to Fabiola Renteria, head of the commercial department, 60% of the company’s revenue comes from heat shrink sleeves, with the remainder generated by self-adhesive labels and pouches—categories that continue to grow steadily.

Delivering this volume of high-spec work demands advanced technology and a rigorously controlled production environment.

“Our facility features climate-controlled conditions to ensure colour consistency and optimal production,” said Daniel Renteria, head of production.

“The white epoxy flooring not only improves aesthetics but also ensures hygiene, and our maintenance team keeps every piece of equipment running at peak performance.”

Promographic & Design’s partnership with Vetaphone began nearly two decades ago with installing a Nilpeter FB 3300 narrow web flexo press. Since then, the relationship has deepened, driven by a shared focus on quality and innovation.

“As a company always seeking the best solutions, we turned to Vetaphone for their expertise in surface treatment,” Daniel Renteria explained.

“Their reputation for engineering excellence made them the natural choice.”

The company’s latest investment includes two 410 mm-wide Vetaphone VE1A-A units equipped with four ceramic electrodes.

“Vetaphone’s technology is highly efficient and dependable,” Renteria added. “Their systems play a critical role in maintaining the print quality our customers expect. The precision, reliability, and innovation they offer are unmatched.”

Marcus Knapp, Vetaphone’s Sales Manager for the Americas, noted the strong alignment between the two companies, “Promographic & Design’s commitment to excellence mirrors our own. The synergy between us, together with the support of our local agent Mario Flores from Flexuministros, sets the foundation for a successful long-term partnership.”

The company’s success is underscored by its ISO 9001:2015 and HACCP certifications, with ISO 22000 certification currently in progress.

Looking ahead, Promographic & Design is gearing up for further expansion.

“We’re adding two new printing presses—a third HP Indigo and a third Nilpeter—which will boost our production capacity significantly,” said Villar.

“We’re also installing new finishing equipment for prime labels, enabling us to offer a wider range of embellishment options, and we’re evaluating Karville systems to enhance our heat shrink sleeve operations.”

The company plans to construct a new industrial facility to accommodate its growing operations in the long term.

“Promographic & Design was born out of necessity,” Villar said. “We’ve built our reputation on delivering premium print solutions backed by excellent service. Strategic investments like our partnership with Vetaphone are essential in realising our vision to lead the labeling and packaging industry.”
